I think I get now how low the ratings for Byker Grove fell before it was axed. In Autumn of 2006, they aired it on Saturdays and Sundays for 20 episodes, on CBBC at 16:30 (bad slot). Its highest rating throughout that run was only 172,000. Lowest was 22,000. Bad for a show that once got 5 million.

I hope the likes of The Dumping Ground don't fall in the ratings in the same way.

There a quite a lot of new series of programmes starting this month!

-The Dumping Ground
-4 O Clock Club
-Mi High
-Fit

These programmes will bring big ratings for CBBC, Around 300k-600k

I hope there will be some new programmes and series in april time.
We got Horrible Histories which is likely to start in easter.
Young Dracula and Wizards VS Aliens in Autumn.

I would have known The Dumping Ground would be a hit. Double episode series premiere got 576k (4.1%), highest CBBC overnight rating since the final episode of Tracy Beaker Returns in March (how ironic ).

4 O'Clock Club did pretty well aswell, with 423k (2.4%) after TDG.

Is there a website where these ratings are in more detail?

I wonder what kind of ratings CBBC gets during school hours in term time, when it's broadcasting to an audience that shouldn't be available to watch it. I'd much rather they'd go back to showing schools programmes at those times.

Do you mean these ratings or ratings in general?

If you mean these ratings, the overnight's aren't posted on Wikipedia, but in official figures, there's a list of the top 10 on CBBC's Wiki page, and a list of ratings for the respective pages for Tracy Beaker Returns, Horrible Histories, Wizards vs Aliens, Wolfblood amongst other shows.

New Series of Mi High is AWFUL!
I HATED it, Series 1-5 was entertaining and exciting!
Even when the spies changed it was still BRILLIANT!

But Now It Is So AWFUL!
The location move to Scotland makes it terrible, new spies are just completely boring, the plot is so bad, the characters arent interesting. It's just SO Boring! I wont be watching anymore and I want the ratings to go down and it to be axed! It doesn't even deserve to be called Mi High!

Mi High was a cool show but now its AWFUL! 0/10!
I wish their never recommissioned it.

Mi High Series 1 and 2 were completely awesome and Series 3,4,5 were really good as well.

Ratings were around 320K, I want that to be 70k by then end.

Well, we'll have to see how M.I High does next week before making a judgement.

I think for some programmes, the fact there is no CBBC on BBC1 anymore, they would get better ratings.

They are trying too many new series

There's the Johnny & Inel Show, Fit, Fierce Earth etc. Then there's the returning shows. If they are looking to increase their ratings then I'm not sure these kind of shows will do that - The Dumping Ground is currently the biggest hit for them.

21 apparently. Someone who wants a show they don't like to fail, yet it's still doing well with 300k (the second episode should timeshift well aswell).

I'm not 12.

To be honest, I'm just angry that one of my favourite childhood programmes which ended on a high has been brought back and is now absolutely terrible. It ruins memories.
But yes I know my comment was like '12 Year Old' would write but It really got to me.
Apologies.

Well, you don't really have to watch it or read the ratings if it bothers you.

I must admit watching Hacker and Dodger on Sam and Mark's Friday Wind Up made me laugh. There was a game where the girl had to find some keys in the soil and one of the dogs said there might be a dog egg in the soil!

Oh I don't watch it any more and wont be watching any new episodes. I have seriously calmed down from before and I'm not bothered now. Again, Sorry for the anger, bitterness and immature comments.

So Current New CBBC Programme/Series:

The Dumping Ground- 7.5/10! Really Good. The first 3/4 episodes have been brilliant!

4 O Clock Club-6/10! The new series has started of really well and the episodes have been pretty good.

Fit-3/10! A slightly boring sketch show. I never laughed once but it has potential to be better.

Dani's Castle-2/10! The opener was pretty poor to be honest. The new characters aren't interesting and the plot wasn't good. I'll watch next weeks episodes to see if it improves but right now it's looking like a Rally Poor Spin-Off.

Tottaly Rubish- Nothing will beat Smart, the previous CBBC art programme but this was quite good.

Michael Stones,
Many of these shows have pretty good ratings - The Dumping Ground, 4 O'Clock Club and Dani's Castle in particular.

The Dumping Ground and 4 O'Clock Club have been consistently good in plot wise and ratings.

But for Dani's Castle we need to see the episode two ratings to see if it can receive the same or higher ratings like it did for episode 1.

Out of interest, If you watched Dani's Castle,What was your opinion of it and how does it stand against Dani's House?

Dani's Castle - firstly it got 438k in the overnights for the first episode which is actually the highest overnight of the week but TDG may overtake it if a large number of people record it and watch via iPlayer (on TV) which make up the official figure.

I would say that as yet, it doesn't have all the fun that Dani's House said, and the unnecessary laugh track still remains. If they were going to use a laugh track, they would actually film it as if there was one or actually use a live audience (show the footage on screens or whatever). It's still a good comedy which CBBC needs, but I want to see more comedy in future episodes instead of the ghostly nature.

For me the ghost part makes it worst because they show it as it's REAL and is part of Dani's life. For me it's lame and they could've thought of much better ideas for a sequel to Dani's House. It's probably cheap to makes so I think regardless the ratings, they will be a series 2/

Episode 2 ratings will show whether people liked the 'Dani's Castle'.

If only I had access to the ratings - i could get the rating for episode 2.

The Dumping Ground did well on Friday as usual.

Notes about Newsround (p 571) are on the Red Button page 998 regarding Text changes coming up in the next few weeks. I keep finding CBBC Extra page 570 and so on get a bit sticky and my PVR has to restart to get the pages off.

Well, it's clear that aside from The Dumping Ground, kids viewing habits are rather mangled. Most of the other shows are rather unstable in terms of the ratings whereas TDG stays around the 500-600k mark.

I noticed that they have stopped the CBBC channel promotion on BBC2 all together and only have limited promotion on BBC1.
