You’ll be able to watch the older TV shows a lot sooner, thankfully. Fox’s awesome back catalogue of shows like Sons of Anarchy, 24, Prison Break, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel will all be available through Lovefilm from next month.
Not sure about Sons of Anarchy but Netflix already has all those. You need Unblock US but still...:P

Nice to see Lovefilm raise their game recently - your move, Netflix.

Lovefim will still have movies like X-Men: First Class before Netflix. Its probably a better deal for movies fans.

Regardless of if you're a customer of Lovefilm, Netflix or both, this is nothing to celebrate about. It's just another example of the studios and distributors playing the streaming content suppliers off against each other by offering them short term exclusivity deals.
The studios and distributors are the real winners, they get two bites of the cherry by being paid a premium for an exclusivity deal and then selling on the rights again once the deal comes to an end. The customers are the ultimate losers. Consumers wouldn't tolerate a situation where you could only buy X-Men from Amazon and no other retailer, only being able to buy Radiohead tracks from iTunes. People would be complaining that it's anti-competitive and deprives the consumer of choice, though somehow where streaming services are concerned people seem willing to tolerate it. Personally, until the studios and distributors decide to stop being greedy and playing rival services off against each other, I'll continue to use a DNS service. |

Now if only they could do a deal with Fox to actually supply their movies for rental on Bluray. That really annoys me.
Oh and for Lovefilm to actually sort out their streaming library. I barely use it and certainly not for TV as its such a pain to navigate compared to netflix |

I hope this doesn't mean that I can't rent Fox films from Blinkbox....
