It's no wonder so many prisoners go on to re-offend.

No bills to pay, no one knocking on the door, no house repairs, no signing on, no hard work, hot food, free open university degrees (and all the time to study free from commitment and worry).

Where do I sign up? I must have done something wrong in life by not killing anyone.

I must admit, while Education, Training and Employment are great, I was surprised one man has been able to complete a degree as it's so expensive.

I'd love to do one but simply can't afford it.

My first thought, having just watched a 'lifer' apply for his parole, is that programme is mistitled.

Nothing like falling asleep at your own murder trial is there?

If you mean what I think you mean.. a life sentence doesn't mean you spend the rest of your life in prison.

Lifers are only released on licence, they can taken straight back in again at any point.

All you have to do is commit a serious crime and there's your opportunity!

An incentive led opportunity if ever there was one!

You obviously weren't listening when they said that prisoners are expected to work; they earn twelve quid a week which they can spend on luxuries, like computer games.

Those 2 women who were visiting their Dad in prison didn't even mention their Mum (who he killed). Strange.

The lad (Lance?) who said he liked being in prison because he had no worries, got regular meals, telly and computer games seemed to just about sum it all up!

It's typical C4 - they only air this sh*t in order to provoke this kind of reaction...

I heard the interviewer asking one of them where he gets his tattoos done and he didn't answer. The prisoner definitely said he was having more inkings done that night so either they have a tattooist visiting which isn't cheap or their security needs stepping up with needles etc readily available.

I agree. I wouldn't trust the editing of Channel 4 docs. For example, the two women visiting their dad may have mentioned their mother, but it just didn't happen to be included.

I was sat glued last night as the father of my two older boys was murdered and the bloke got three life sentences with an order to serve 20 years before being considered for parole.

My boys are now in their twenties and live at home as they cannot afford to move out.

I couldn't believe the luxury these lifers get!

Feel sick and wish channel 4 had considered the victims families before showing this.
