Drunken Behaviour

According to Todays Sun

BBC bosses have cancelled a series of tributes celebrating 20 years of EastEnders — because of bad behaviour by its stars OFF SCREEN.

The Beeb had planned a string of specials inviting viewers to name their favourite Albert Square character.

But BBC executives are understood to have decided the poll would be unwise after scandals including Leslie Grantham’s webcam sex antics, Jessie Wallace’s drink-drive conviction and Dalip Tahil’s immigration problems.

Elaine Lordan was axed for her boozing — including a pub bust-up while she was three months’ pregnant. Even veteran actress Laila Morse, who plays Big Mo, crashed to the floor at a posh charity bash.

And Ray Panthaki was struck with a bottle after a clubber told him his on-screen Ferreira family was “rubbish”.

All the above antics of the so called stars have been well documented and are true

I reckon it could be a winner and get the show yet even more publicity - albeit for the wrong reasons. The Slaters could end up having a drunken catfight, Den could be in the corner on his webcam, bring back Elaine Lordan in her arsenal strip to fight with a few photographers and as an extra special treat, some acting classes and workshops, starring Vicki, Shannis, Gus, Juley, The Ferrarias, Derek, Andy, Sam, in fact all of them.

Meanwhile, Fat Pat's earrings, could be auctioned off and all proceeds to charity, Barry's ashes could be a prize too and we could have a cabaret starring Alfie, Spencer and Nana.

To top it all off, the BBC could erect a special fairground in tribute to the best ever storyline and bring in the old geezer that died whose name I can't even remember, to finish off the proceedings with a toast of champagne.

As if EE is the only soap this year to have had bad publicity.

Every soap has bad publicity from time to time, but you must admit that EastEnders has had the worst of it!

Not really, we've had positive things...
Nabil risking life and limb while a Corrie star gets caught fiddling price tags in a shop as if he can't afford a sweater or whatever it was!

Corrie-Underage drinking (Danny Young)
Corrie-Punch up including Danny Young
Corrie-Jimmi tries to get away with only paying half price for something he could probably afford ten of.

We've discussed this many times and viewers know and accept that we hate Danny Young for dragging down Corrie's reputation

However it's shame that you can't accept that storylines such as those outlined in the original article are much worse.

I don't know it's particulary funny when Jimmi later tries to deny the incident roflmao, despite getting cautioned doens't he know why you get cautioned?

Anyways Benc I think you'll agree the majority of any soaps bad publicity involves a nightclub and a drunken star.

The topic is still bad publicity for a soaps characters getting a show called off. I'm not really off topic hun.

Anyways I doubt this is true, despite what any of the characters have done, they wouldn't let the 20th anniversary go by without marking it.

The SUN may well be a rag but it is usually very accurate in its soap news. Time will tell and I am happy to wait to be proven right or if proven wrong will accept it graciously
