Think they should award him a special prize.
6 months anger management therapy then 6 months in a charm school.

Brilliant article!

When did it become acceptable for a bloke to threaten physical and sexual violence on a woman simply because she annoyed him?

More disturbingly, when did TV producers decide no action should be taken afterwards?

At the risk of being gobbled up and spat out, he didn't actually threaten anyone, did he. (I didn't include a question mark because it's rhetorical. He didn't.) He made some rather crude remarks which mean he will never win the show. Should he have been kicked out for being a complete t*sser? I don't think so, no.

I just looked up "threaten" in my dictionary. It gives the following definition: state one's intention to take hostile action against someone in retribution for something done or not done.

I'd say that's a pretty good description of what Conor did.

I just read the transcript out to my mum, and replaced any naughty words with bleeps and she was still appalled. Her response? "Derry definitely breeds some bad eggs". Haha.

The ol' dictionary gambit. Whilst that definition is correct you've glossed over the word intention. Anyone that looks at this incident while keeping their emotions in check will conclude that there was no intention there. Similarly, when my mother used to say, "I'm going to bloody kill you!" when I was a naughty child she did not intend to murder me. I understand that it's an emotive issue but all those involved in the decision making process (Channel 5, Ofcom, the police, etc.) are duty bound to treat the issue objectively, and when they do they conclude, rightly, that there was no threat.

As a gay man, I was particularly appalled at his description of scott as a walking tampon or something like that in the DR. Was surprised no one on BBOTS picked up on it and called him out. Although I give him props - way to add a mix of homophobia to his misogynistic rants.

I'm not too sure Conor meant it as a homophobic slur although I do recall a clip on one of the highlights shows where he turned his nose up at the thought of Benedict sleeping with another guy. I think Scott's hair has led to the new nickname. Which is a shame, I quite like it!

I'd be very interested to hear the difference in response if she actually saw the video. YouTube link - about 31mins in.

So was he lying when he said he would punch her if she threw water at him? That's not obvious hyperbole like "I'll murder you".

Yeah you're right actually, because punching someone for throwing water at you isn't obvious hyperbole at all. He was obviously deadly serious because he really doesn't like water. Give me a break!

I don't think Conor means most of his comments as homophobic or misogynistic at all, but that doesn't mean that they are not.

The thing that concerns me about him is that out of all of them - he talks nasty - and I think given the right situation could become quite physically violent. This is why I am surprised BB kept him in. Aaron is an idiot and talks nasty, but I don't believe would ever have the cajones to actually get physical.

Conor, on the other hand, seems like just the lug to take it to the next level.

In a way, I feel somewhat sorry for him. I think he believes he is going to be leaving the house and will be greeted as a hero, it will be a rude awakening.

Maybe he will learn something from it, but I doubt it.

LOL! I certainly wouldn't want to offend your mother, it's just that the transcript lacks context and ignores the fact that he was singing most of it. The video isn't censored though, so I'll understand if you don't want to show her.

I'm sure there are people who would punch other people for much less than throwing water. I would not be at all surprised if Conor were one of them.

But even if he was only pretending to threaten violence, that's bad enough.

First off, pretending to threaten violence is not actually threatening violence. Secondly, he wasn't even pretending to, he was just talking a lot of rubbish. Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a horrible thing to say and it speaks volumes about his character, but I don't think we can conclude that he's the type of person to go around punching people for trivial things. Those kind of people are very few and far between and they very rarely make threats - they just get on with it.

WhatJoeThinks, you forget this isnt his first outburst, remember the Benedict eviction?

He threatened retribution there at the wrap party, so who knows?

Bantering about sexual assault and physical violence isnt a criminal offence, neither is calling someone a gorilla imo but the punishments doled out werent fair IMO.

Cant see how Caroline can get a final warning and he doesnt for his multiple rule breaks.

I completely agree. Any HM is capable of blowing their top, having a good bitch, or even engaging in pantomime villainy. However, his hateful personality seems to me to be genuine and comes from within. He is aggressive, snarling, abusive and angry, and has been like it too often. I genuinely worry about Deana being in there with him. He is an appalling human being and the worst HM ever imo.

I hadn't forgotten. He actually said, "God help him at the wrap party", which is open to interpretation. And it is a criminal offense to call somebody a gorilla in certain circumstances. Strange but true.

The "walking tampon" comment was directed I thought at the red hair ? What was it that you perceived to be homophobic? I am not saying Conor isn't homophobic but I don't think he's daft enough to say a blatant homophobic comment. Is there something you know about that particular insult that I am not understanding properly? All I thought of was Prince Charles
