It was confusing. I initially thought they all won a prize, bar Deana ('cos she failed to eat her food) The next thing I knew they were all up in arms about Conor having to do the shopping list on his own.

So what happened to the prize?

No I dont think so. Deena was exempt from the prize so presumably the prize wasnt changed, just the people entitled to it were affected by the task.

They just used it as an excuse to put Deena down even more. Also they were annoyed they got punked by such a crap prize after being pampered and spoilt.

At least thats how it came across to me. I dont know what was said that wasnt shown of course so could be wrong!!

No it was simple. Eat stuff then vote for the winner. The winner will get a treat. Deana didn't eat stuff so it was announced clearly by Big Brother for all to hear that she was therefore not in the running for the prize. They voted and Conor won. Arron didn't like the prize and his knee jerked and blamed Deana. Becky, still gutted that she didn't pick something to eat with lots of sugar in it, then took over and gave a masterclass of how thick she is and convinced the house that there was a better prize and Deana had eaten it.

I thought that was how it went down - gawd those housemates are just looking for something to have a go at Deana about....makes it somewhat worse given the fact it was all for nothing!

I don't think there was another prize they would have gotten if all HMs passed the task. And if there really was no other prize then the HMs were picking on Deana because of speculation, meaning they all had their heads right up their arses.

I find it totally crazy that not one housemate picked up on this. How I wish Benedict was there for that fiesta of stupidity.

Even Ash tried to stick up for Deana but she just went ''she tried her best, it's not all her fault''. No one actually thought for one second, hey, it doesn't say anywhere we would have gotten a better prize so maybe we should keep our mouths shut rather than bitch and rave about someone based on absolutely nothing.

I found their blaming of Deana bizarre, to say the least. All BB said was that she was exempt from being eligible for the prize because she failed to eat the 'spam cake.' All the others were eligible for the prize because they had eaten their foods. The 'prize' turned out to be that a HM, chosen by the rest of the HMs, gets total control of the shopping list. This didn't go down well with them and they used Deana as a scapegoat to vent their anger. Peculiarly believing she was the cause as to why they received a less than desirable prize when BB never said it was her fault in the first place. Whether Deana had eaten that cake or not, the prize was always going to be the opportunity for one HM to have total control over the shopping list.

I sincerely hope that BB has since cleared up any confusion the HMs had over it, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have left it still hanging in the air.

Times past housemates would have gone to the diary room and asked for a clarification. This lot just jump to their own conclusions.

She said a lot more than that actually.

She said they can't blame Deana as they didn't know if there was another prize and whether the shopping budget prize was the prize.

But then it was Ashleigh saying it so I suppose it's just another incident of her bitching.

What got them all up in arms was the realisation, and particually from Connor himself, that the prize was a bloody horrible thing to happen to somebody like Connor.
That's why they felt cheated.

Big Brother didn't need to clarify. It was the housemates being universally thick that was the problem. And not for the first time. They failed to understand the lab rat task and failed to understand this task. Big brother is using too many big words for them, so when Big Brother said that Deana was not 'eligible' for the prize they just didn't know what the word meant, it's actually laughable. Further proof is conor's reason for not liking the prize, he saw it as a punishment because it involved adding things up and writing things down. Most of them being thick has been the main cause of trouble in this series. The barrel was wel and truly scraped when they chose this lot. Even the so called intelligent ones are pretty dim.

The most obvious example in 13 series of BB that i have seen of scapegoating. Usually their is an eliment of doubt, in that we can only guess as to the reason 's someone is getting bashed. We know here the reason, and that they invented it.
Let their be no more of this, Deana deserves anything, other than our support. This is Big Brother not some gameshow based on the Lord of the Flys.

It was always going to be a rubbish prize- all through the task nice things turned out to be nasty and nasty things were nice. So it was with the prize.
I loved the way those chivalrous men (and Becky) put their names on the things that looked nice and left the nasty things for Ashleigh, Lauren. Luke A, Sara and Lydia! If they were so macho and brave and serious about winning the task they'd have taken the dodgy foods themselves.

they did this last season with aaron. they said he would get a special prize for the task that they pinned things to their faces, and all he got was little plastic trophy or something.

at the time, we were all waiting to find out what the special prize would be, hoping it was immunity for him.

That's how I saw it. Anyone would have thought that Deana had lost them the luxury budget. It didn't make sense that the housemates were so hateful towards Deana.
Why was Conor chosen as the winner anyway, because he was sick afterwards?

That is a very interesting question, but one we can only speculate about. In my opinion, I don't think they would have said one solitary negative word to him.
