I very much doubt all people in Northern Ireland speak this way. Banter is one thing but a man talking this way so aggresively about a woman is another. Anyone defending him is defending his comments on violence against women. I'm sure they'd feel differently if it was their gf/sister he was talking about.

I'm from N. Ireland. That was not acceptable language. It wasn't banter - it was vile abuse from a thick-as-shit caveman

So in N Ireland it's common to say you'd punch a woman and call them a piece of shit?

What a ridiculous attempt to excuse his behaviour. So, people from N.Ireland often say they will put a hairbrush up a woman's vagina (?) I didn't think so. You would think they could have come up with something better than that.

I don't buy any defence of Conor. He also said something to the effect of "I don't care if I get called up to the Diary Room", showing that he knew that what he said could cause serious offence, yet continued regardless.

There is no other context.

If it was just a ' I'll stick the epilator up her arse' type comment I might be able to agree with them but it was much more detailed and misogynistic than that. Most men I know wouldn't threaten to punch a woman in the face, especially not for something as trivial ( I know things are intensified in the house but still... ) as Deana's supposed crime.

I can even understand why they were annoyed with her, but his reaction seemed to come from a deeper place. Possibly the fear of having to add something up?

I am not surprised.

As I said on another thread, I am surprised they are not all blaming it on Deana, because at the end of the day, if she hadn't bought an epilator and hairbrush into the BB house none of this would have happened.

She only has herself to blame

Complete and utter codswallop. in no way is that sort of talk in any way the preserve of any nationality, and thank goodness not.

I'm reminded of Paddy from CBB 2011.
Not that he and Conor are the same but rather how different they are in portraying their Irish heritage.

Could be, fear does funny things to people and he certainly didn't sound very bright last night, and lets face it Deana is a well spoken bright lass.

On the other hand being stoopid is no excuse for this type of behaviour. I am sure that there is quite a large young audience of BB at 9pm. If I had children I would be mortified at this, in fact I would have to BAN IT.

Seeing what he said written on here didn't make a difference, it was still appalling. So no matter how he said it, or with what accent he said it in, doesn't make it ok.

Perhaps we should ask Orlaith BB6 if she considers this typical of her nationality

Balls. I have never once heard Nadine Coyle threaten to sexually violate someone with a brush and she's from his town!
