Does Colin know that Jinx is not the father of Ffion's baby? Remember right before Gaynor's wedding he told her Hwyel was the father? Was he just being nasty or do you think he knows. He did live with Jinx and Iolo at the time.

Actually I thought maybe Eifion finds himself on the wrong end of one. Cadno got depressed and angry once before and the cattle didn't fair too well. Don't forget the badger traps she got illegally as well.

im really considering getting in to this but I have no idea whats going on and nor can I find an up to date character list, From reading this I get the jist, Macs is a teacher slept with two students and was raped by his ex girlfriends ex boyfriend but thats all I know and that someones gay and there's a baby with a mystery father and a teenage pregnancy at some point with her boyfriend not being the dad??? Im confused so is it really that confusing or is it quite simple once you get into it?

Welcome, I'll try to untangle this for you. First you can forget about a teenage pregnancy having to do with Macs. There have been teenage pregnancies on PYC but the most recent involved characters not currently appearing.

Macs slept with two students. The first Izzy he blackmailed into sleeping with him. She called it rape but never went to the police. This happened 4 years ago. Its being mentioned lately if this were very recent but no Izzy is not a current character.
The Macs also slept with an 18 year old 6th form student named Rachael within the last month. This happened when he was suspended due a false allegation that he punched a student. He wants to be with her but has since being reinstated he has not slept with her.

Macs was raped 2 years ago by Scott who was the former boyfriend of his ex-fiancée Sioned. Scott raped Macs out of revenge because he Sioned were taunting him after he wouldn't move out of Macs house. (there's more to this... but I'm being brief).

Iolo is the one who is gay. He is Macs brother. He is also the friend of Jinx and Ffion who have a baby and are getting married. Ffion is the one who fooled Jinx into believing that he was the father of her child when he is not. Ffion is an alcoholic who was having an affair with her ex-husband Hwyel at the time she fell pregnant. Hwyel rejected her because of her drinking. She is a black-out drunk. So Ffion was afraid to raise a baby with Hwyel and tricked Jinx into believing he was the father. Iolo knew about this at the time and said nothing because Ffion said she would continue drinking and kill her baby if he told Jinx the truth.

So Ffion's baby is born and Hwyel the ex-husband demanded a DNA test because he suspected he was the father. The DNA test came back that he was not the father. Jinx thought it meant he was the father so he proposed to Ffion. Ffion accepted the proposal because she couldn't remember who she slept with. She admitted this to Iolo that she really can't remember the month that her baby was conceived. Iolo was tired of keeping Ffion's secret so he told his brother Macs about Ffion's lies. Macs then remembered that he slept once with Ffion at the time her baby was conceived. He probably is the father, but since the viewers never saw this episode where Macs and Ffion slept together and Ffion really can't remember that period of her life, maybe he is not the father. There has been no DNA test.

I have written a Russian novel here so someone else can fill you in on Moc, Gethin and Iolo. Hope you are not too confused.

No problem this gives a break from some very boring work. Last 2 questions first.

Jinx has no idea that he is not the babys dad and he is in love with Ffion. But he also has a secret he and Ffion are cousins. He found this out at Christmas time that his Uncle an alcoholic slept with Val Ffion's mother and abandoned his family. Ffion doesn't know. Val doesn't know because the man who was Ffion's father and Jinx's uncle is dead.

Macs was raped in 2011, but Scott the rapist came back with Izzy who was now Scotts fiancée last summer. Macs only got Scott to leave after secretly recording his confession. The confession is now at the bank with Moc the bank manager. Scott was never punished.

Macs is not being blackmailed over Rachael. What happened was Macs after Scott left went off the rails. He started sleeping with Gaynor his boss and Izzy's mother. I wouldn't call it an affair Gaynor just used Macs for sex to make herself feel more desirable. Gaynor ended up marrying her long term boyfriend Hwyel, but Macs was still obessed. God knows why Gaynor was never kind to him. So Hwyel and Macs got into it taunting one another. Then Hwyel lied to his son Rhys told him about Izzy that she was raped and that Macs was sleeping with Rachael. At the time he wasn't he was still obessed over Gaynor. Rhys punched Macs and with his father's help lied to the police he was suspended. Macs had a disciplinary hearing and was fired because of the lies and that's when he got drunk and slept with Rachael. Gaynor found out about the lies but was still going to fire him because of sleeping with Rachael while suspended. Macs blackmailed Gaynor to get his job back by threating to report their affair to the school goveners.

Moc and Gethin get their own post. This is where things could get confusing for a new viewer.

Moc is the father of Gethin and Dani. He is a womanizer who abandoned his children when they were small. He has just recently come back into their lives. Gethin and Moc have never gotten along there was always bad blood between them and Gethin never wanted Moc around his sister Dani.

Gethin has in the past had a history of lying and inappropriate anger. He had a relationship with Sheryl who is now living with Garry. For a bit they were serious and were living together. Gethin had a secret wife and child that Sheryl never knew about. Sheryl was devastated and she called Moc Gethin's estranged father and invited him to come back to the village. Moc and Sheryl started sleeping together within the first 2 weeks after he came to the village.

For a while Moc and Sheryl kept their relationship a secret because Moc said he didn't want to hurt Gethin. I don't believe Moc cares about Gethin, I think he enjoys hurting him. But at the time he said the secret was to make Gethin feel better.

Gethin found out that his father and Sheryl were together and that Sheryl had moved in with him so at Moc's birthday he announced that his father sexually abused him when he was 9. Not really a surprise because there had been many clues. Moc denied it and there was no actual proof. But there were a lot suspicious things Moc was keeping photos of young school boys and only dated young mothers of small boys.

Sheryl's current boyfriend Garry drove Moc off by planting child porn on his laptop. Moc recently came back to town to sell his house. He and Gethin had a conversation. At first Moc tried to convince Gethin he had imagined the molestation but finally broke down and admitted it. Gethin left his fathers house distraught and walked right in front of a car being driving by Iolo.

Iolo has been hiding the fact he is the hit and run driver. Gethin was in the hospital for many weeks and has some sort of brain injury. Moc used Gethin's injury as a way of clearing himself. He has managed to convince Gethin he was lying about the sexual abuse for revenge because Moc stold his girlfriend. Now the whole village has turned against Gethin who is really in a desperate situation with no one to turn to except his abusive father.

Not too confusing I hope.

the gethin stuff is a lot less confusing than the macs being punished by his ex girlfriends Mom's husband's son and had an affair with her Mom and then said ex girlfriend is dating his rapist.

Izzy and Scot are not current characters. All the sexual abuse rape talk I think has more to do with establishing that there are many characters affected by sexual violence, this goes with Moc's storyline I think. I don't know that Scott and Izzy are returning.

Rhys is a teenage father to a daughter with Lois who is Gaynor's daughter. The child Gwen was given up for adoption. This isn't likely to come up much as Lois hasn't been seen for a year and Rhys is living with his gran and I don't know if we will see him for a while.
Everyone knows about Izzy and Macs except for Rachael. No one has told her yet. Most people don't know about Macs rape. Gaynor's family know about it and Macs family know about it. Rhys has no idea that Macs was raped. Macs rape is not common knowledge.
What happened was that Hwyel Rhys father told Rhys about the incident with Izzy out of revenge for sleeping with his wife. This was a way of winding Macs up about the fact Macs had been raped. Because Hwyel as Izzy's stepfather was one of the few people who knew about it. So Rhys starting taunting Macs about rape thinking he was protecting Rachael. Macs was not sleeping with her at the time.

Rhys kept taunting Macs about rape. Which as you can imagine did not go over well. So Macs told Rhys if he didn't stop he would report him to Gaynor the head teacher. Rhys said something about Izzy again. Macs lashed out and told Rhys he had been having an affair with his stepmother Gaynor. Rhys then punched Macs and knocked him out and Macs called the police.

To cover for the fact that Rhys was the one who was in the wrong that he punched a teacher, Rhys had his father Hwyel hit him. Then Rhys and Hwyel told the police that Macs was the one who had hit a student. Macs nearly lost his job over this.

I don't think we exactly know who knows that Macs was raped. Gaynor, Hwyel, Iolo, Sion, Britt, Sioned and Auntie Marion definately do. However the whole thing with Rhys was brought on by Hwyel telling him about Macs and Izzy - not that he was raped by Scott?

We have been talking a lot on this thread about the dictaphone that Macs gave to Moc to keep at the bank. A few months ago, Gwyneth was being blackmailed by Gethin (that storyline is a page on it's own!!) and needed money so Moc gave her the loan basically for free (I can't remember all the details) and then when Moc was away his actions were found out by the bank and we saw them taking loads of his stuff away....we have no idea what happened to the dictaphone!! We've been speculating that maybe this will link up Gethin and Macs (Gethin used to live at Macs when Scott did, but I can't remember the last time they spoke to each other!) when Gethin finally gets Moc to admit to the abuse in front of someone....which, knowing PYC, will be in a few years time!

Oh and by the way, Garry really believed Gethin's allegations about Moc and when he found out that "they weren't true", he admitted to him that he was abused when he was a child. Gwyneth and Sheryl also heard that.

The scene where Gethin told Gwyneth about the abuse was acted magnificently by Simon. There was so much emotion and it was so believable.
