Definitely in Series 17. There's a scene in - I think - Creature from the Pit where he's being summoned and he gets really narked off as he says "Coming Master... COMING!"
I hate him for that lol |

Nope, sorry. Call me a big kid but I utterly love K9 and his condescending prissiness. And I loved the little bitchy back and forth with Mr Smith in Sarah Jane Adventures.

I believe much of the production crew and actors did with the early versions.

I have fond memories of K9. As a kid I loved him. But as an adult see it for the naff idea it was. Probably one of the most childish ideas in Doctor Who. But then the show is also for kids, right? :-)

I love K9fan's posts conducted entirely in smileys.
![]() I was trying to kill off K9 in the "Five Word Thingy" thread, but he proved invincible in the end, and kept coming back, so I gave up. I didn't think of a car crusher, though. I'll remember that one. Sorry, K9fan, it wasn't because I don't like K9, it was just for dramatic interest.

I didn't dislike K9 but there were moments when he could be annoying. I don't think JNT and Chris Bidmead liked him though, considering the way he was treated in Season 18.........

I find K-9 annoying because no-one else on the show seems to find him annoying, just 'quirky' and 'grumpy' and 'adorable'.
However, I have no problem with Orac in Blake's 7 - despite being very similar - because he's deliberately annoying to the rest of the crew and they react like they should. |

I was a young lad when K9 appeared and I remember my Grandad telling me about the new robot dog on Doctor Who. I loved him, he was brilliant and I got really upset when he was blown up, or shot or going to be melted down etc.
However, if I'd been an adult at the time, he would have probably annoyed me and was so blatantly a plot device to get the Doctor out of trouble (much like how the SS is used today). I don't remember the TV K9 ever actually squaring up to the Daleks and wonder how he would have done! |

You're tempting fate with this one Soph. It's the sort of thing Moffat would do.
I've a good mind to report you to the RSPCRA. |

![]() I prefer script editors and producers who have some respect for what came before them. I know Moffat is open about his love/hate for Doctor Who and has been very critical of the 1960s, but at least he also honours the past and acknowledges the stuff he thinks was good. Back to K9, I do feel a little sorry for John Leeson, that he didn't get a decent appearance in The Five Doctors. I can imagine him meeting the First Doctor and the Doctor saying "What is that silly little creature?"
