Kelis...not including Milkshake!
Although Kelis is widely recognised for her hit single, Milkshake, what are some of your other favourite Kelis songs, and what do you think of her as an artist, and her career?
I think she's a very versatile and just off-the-radar artist. While I don't think she'll break the big time again, I enjoy listening to her music. One of my favourite songs by her is "Suspended" - i like the vibe to it, it's quite unlike much that I've heard ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYZV9jv0Dp8 |

Flesh Tone is a masterpiece album and an unappreciated gem! Very futuristic and makes the electro/dance genre so fun and refreshing - even on a play now it still sounds brand new and exciting. It's one of my summer albums definitely. I adore 4th of July, Emancipate and Scream. Brave is pretty cool too. I wish Kelis got so much more appreciation. Her new record is out at the end of the year.

Caught Out There
Acapella 22nd Century Lil' Star Blindfold Me Trick Me 4th July In Public Bossy I Don't Think So Bounce (with Calvin Harris) Millionaire.... She has so many good songs, but none of them have really seen that much commercial success....she's really great though, and when I listen to her music it does seem like she's in her own lane as an artist. |

She's brilliant, always ahead of the curve and a great live performer too.
She performed her new song 'Distance' at Lovebox last week but I've only managed to find this 30s clip online. Sounds promising though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVjcvPOrKrg |

Her first two albums are great. It gets patchy after that.
Saw her at the Astoria on the Wonderland tour. Her version of "I can't make you love me" by Bonnie Raitt was top notch. Her "Smells like teenage spirit" cover, less so. |

Fleshtone is a great body of work, I was obsessed with it last Summer. 4th of July is probably my favourite. Love her collaboration with Calvin Harris too. |

I can't hear Milkshake without thinking of Amanda in Ugly Betty. Fans of UB will probably know why

Very hard to choose, because as many of you say, her album 'Fleshtone' is one of the best things I've come across in a very long time.
Let's hope she's in the studio working on something big that equals fleshtone. |

She's one of those rare artists whose albums are excellent through-and-through, never a bad track. Tasty in particular is a real classic.
Favourite songs: Mafia Game Show Roller Rink Flashback Trick Me Scream As well as a ton of album tracks that I can't totally remember right now. |
