Although Kelis is widely recognised for her hit single, Milkshake, what are some of your other favourite Kelis songs, and what do you think of her as an artist, and her career?

I think she's a very versatile and just off-the-radar artist. While I don't think she'll break the big time again, I enjoy listening to her music.

One of my favourite songs by her is "Suspended" - i like the vibe to it, it's quite unlike much that I've heard

Flesh Tone is a masterpiece album and an unappreciated gem! Very futuristic and makes the electro/dance genre so fun and refreshing - even on a play now it still sounds brand new and exciting. It's one of my summer albums definitely. I adore 4th of July, Emancipate and Scream. Brave is pretty cool too. I wish Kelis got so much more appreciation. Her new record is out at the end of the year.

She has so many good songs, but none of them have really seen that much commercial success....she's really great though, and when I listen to her music it does seem like she's in her own lane as an artist.

She's brilliant, always ahead of the curve and a great live performer too.

She performed her new song 'Distance' at Lovebox last week but I've only managed to find this 30s clip online. Sounds promising though:

Her first two albums are great. It gets patchy after that.

Saw her at the Astoria on the Wonderland tour. Her version of "I can't make you love me" by Bonnie Raitt was top notch. Her "Smells like teenage spirit" cover, less so.

I love that song too!

Fleshtone is a great body of work, I was obsessed with it last Summer. 4th of July is probably my favourite. Love her collaboration with Calvin Harris too.

I really like Kelis and I do think she's completely underrated with her music. She's a difficult one to define as she's been quite eclectic with her sound but quite adventurous with it too and that's what I really like about her. In a way, with her feisty personality and independence when it comes to making music, she reminds me Pink and Robyn, even though I do think Pink is pretty much mainstream despite having had her rebellious moment with "Try This". And unlike someone like Lady Gaga or Rihanna who thinks they're being alternative or provocative when what they do is pretty much very "corporate", Kelis to me is authentic in her way of being a bit of a misfit.
Her career, unless she decides to go full mainstream, won't take off to the height of a Pink but she's the kind of artist who'll stick around and keep on releasing music (hopefully as good as she has made until now)

My favorites - Caught Out There, Trick Me, Millionaire, Scream, 4th July, Brave.

I love that song! I remember it was played on Radio 1 endlessly back when released. I bought her Greatest Hits purely for Millionnaire. There is a couple of other decent songs on there too mind.

I can't hear Milkshake without thinking of Amanda in Ugly Betty. Fans of UB will probably know why

Very hard to choose, because as many of you say, her album 'Fleshtone' is one of the best things I've come across in a very long time.

Let's hope she's in the studio working on something big that equals fleshtone.

She's one of those rare artists whose albums are excellent through-and-through, never a bad track. Tasty in particular is a real classic.

Favourite songs:
Mafia
Game Show
Roller Rink
Flashback
Trick Me
Scream

As well as a ton of album tracks that I can't totally remember right now.
