Nelly Furtado's Try - Her Best Song!!
I have never been a Nelly Furtado fan and find her voice quite grating but I think this song is amazing!
I don't really like any of her other songs apart from Try. Here's a reminder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3--1Kw2UHDQ&feature=plcp |

It's certainly one of her best singles but she has better album tracks:
One trick pony The grass is green Fresh off the boat Hey man Wait for you Showtime |

'Say It Right' FTW. 'Try' is a great song. It was definitely a standout track on 'Folklore'
I have high expectations for her new album, though, so maybe she'll best all her previous singles at some point

Out of interest, where have you heard Try recently?
I noticed it's back in the top 1000 on iTunes, and now this random thread about it, so I'm assuming it's been used in a recent TV show/movie, or played on Radio 1 or something, with this surge in popularity of the song (albeit a very small surge :P). |

I have to agree, I've never been a big fan of 'Folklore' but 'Try' is an obvious standout and probably my favourite Nelly Furtado song.

I prefer more of the singles off of Loose such as Maneater, All Good Things and Say It Right

"And I see you standing there... wanting more from me... And all I can do is Try..."
I agree. Best song. Beautiful and tender. |

I personally think Folklore is a underrated gem and one of Nelly's best albums. Try was a stand-out track and one of my favourite singles from her. The production is beautiful.

Great song I remember being obsessed with this at time of its release, and always been a stand out track for me of hers.
Another of her ballads that I absolutely LOVE is "In Gods Hands" beautiful song. |

Try is certainly a good song from Folklore, although my faves from that album are One Trick Pony, Powerless, Explode and Força. Her debut Whoa Nelly is by far my favourite album of hers though. There's hardly a track on it I don't love! Not so keen on Loose, apart from a few songs (Maneater, No Hay Igual & All Good Things) and I cannot stand her latest single! I hope there's other stuff I'll like on her new album.
I like her Broken Strings duet with James Morrison too, as well as that one with Timbaland and Justin Timberlake, Give It To Me. Btw, I was wondering too, why Try has suddenly out of the blue become popular again? I bet the song has been used in an advert or something, lol. |

Try is good but she has better songs like Say It Right, Turn Off The Light and Do It.

I agree. I think Try and Explode were the only songs I liked from the Folklore era.
She had far better singles from the Loose Era. Maneater, Say It Right, All Good Things and Do It were my favourite tracks from that era. |

Her earliest stuff was the best. I loved "Whoa, Nelly!" but "Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)" is awful. Reminds me of a Ying Yang Twins beat.
