Everyone seems to hate on Simon really easily, but you seem to forget he is only eight and has all the drama of corrie to deal with - not normal things an eight year old might face like 'I got detention in school' or 'I'm too young for an iphone, yet I'll be given one anyway'.
I was a bit tipsy when I typed my comment. I think children that are brought up mainly around adults, particularly grandparents and don't have siblings may speak like an adult. The type of kid whom they say 'has been here before'

I don't find him cute, it's like Corrie want a Hollywood Movie version of an 8 year old boy, cocky and full of wisecracks.

Belting, thrashing, birching .... call it what you like. Simon needs it and the sooner the better. Persoanlly, I find it frightening that his hormones will start to stir in a few years time because we are all done for. The thought of him breeding is not a pleasant one to contemplate. Not pleasant at all.

I can think of a few words to describe Curly - sadly 'cute' isn't one of them.

I'd take my belt to him & to hell with the consequences.

Quite. I mean you may crack the leather or tarnish the buckle but you can always get a new belt.

If same cheeky kids were possessed of a scintilla of charm they can be almost bearable. This Son of Satan Chucky-u-Like homunculus has all the charm of a vomiting wart hog.

The worst of it is, he clearly has his perverted little heart set on doing his beastly breeding with Lianne.

Wow .... imagine their offspring ...

A curly-haired brass with a sense of entitlement that deems other folks kids theirs, & wants half of everything.

According to the latest Dail Mail update, in a forthcoming episode a tearful Simon screams to Lianne, 'Mummy! Mummy! Nick touched me!'

Then Simon has her all to himself.

And the horror begins...

I don't especially notice kids in Soaps because they usually act like, well, kids! But this little swine stands out as his script is way beyond his supposed age. That makes any kid a smartarse. And no one likes those, do they?
He's afforded too much reverence and importance when he should do us all a favour and remain silent. Chained to a radiator.

Several reasons - This storyline is running up to the departure of Peter and Carla. They want to make Peter feel that pushed out by Simon liking Nick that it leads to Peter taking drastic actions. Drinking again, going missing, a body that could be his pulled from the canal, Carla doubting his feelings for her and then him and Carla fleeing the street with Simon then Leanne foiling their plot.

When Peter leaves the street we already know Simon stays with Leanne. What would be the point with Simon having the same I don’t like Nick strops he had with Carla? They have already explored the kid doesn’t like the new partner no point in just playing the same storyline out again but with Nick instead of Carla. Why Peter and Carla are not on the Street Leanne and Nick need other storylines away from Peter and Carla and the custody battle.

What I think or hope will happen whilst Peter and Carla are away - Simon will eventually come to the conclusion that although he is with Leanne whom he sees as his mum, it’s Peter not Nick that is his dad and he really misses his dad and wants to spend time with Peter once Peter gets back. Because Simon reaches this conclusion and Leanne sees how much Simon misses his dad she will relent in her bitterness towards Peter and Carla and come to some sort of arrangement where Simon lives with her and Nick but is happy for him to stay with Peter and Carla. There has to be some sort of conclusion to this custody battle as there is no point when Peter and Carla come back for the writers to drag all the custody stuff back up and keep going around and around in circles. Once this custody storyline is completed the character of Nick and Leanne, Peter and Carla can then be taken off in completely separate storylines Leanne and Nick with the Platt’s and Prices, the bistro and the pub. Peter and Carla with the Barlow’s, Carla’s brother, the factory and the bookies. Simon can then happily float in and out of both his parents storylines but with the occasional where will he spend Christmas / holidays spats brewing up between the two sets of parents every now and then .

I hope you're right, although there's a dismaying amount of on-screen Simon in that scenario. Can't he go off to live with George?

i hope you right but cannot see it i mean this drama been going on for two years i think it should come to a head first of all no point going back and forth with who staying with who i mean to much under the bridge for a leanne and peter reunion

simon made his choice want to be with leanne peter should accept that he get to see simon everyday as they live not far from each other

i would love to see leanne with more storyline with stella and eva hopefully with gloria as well

when peter and carla comes back i do not think it be a custordy battle i think carla will get pregnant with peter child

hopefully leanne would as nick as the father

Perhaps the brat could fall into one of Owen's cement mixers where he emerges a couple of hours later inside a concrete block with just his curly hair sticking out of the top. However, to make sure he is properly dealt with, the block should be placed against a wall and birched. He should then be asked if he has learnt any respect from this experience. If he says no, he should be thrashed with a cat o' nine tails. If he says yes, he should still be thrashed with a cat o' nine tails. He should then be made to do his homework.
