Its a five hour average!

Even England vs Italy would have struggled to get 11.5m for a give hour broadcast.

Amazing numbers, I was in Norway last week, and I saw it on TV over there, I wonder has it been exported to many countries?

I've been wondering about this. One or two people suggested ITV1 should adopt an ITV3-esque schedule against Euro 2012 and Wimbledon, and they got roundly pooh-poohed on this thread, for having no ratings and/or business knowledge. Yet now ITV are doing exactly that against the Olympics, and no doubt this will be spun as being great for ratings, and making excellent business sense.

Brilliant for Dynamo.

I'm not usually into illusion/magic style shows but he is brilliant.

A real word of mouth show and one that everyone seems to talk about the next day.

Its not really my cup of tea but a cracking rating for Sinbad as well.

Well, I hope so, Blackadder. You know, if there's one thing I've learnt from being in the Army, it's never ignore a pooh-pooh. I knew a Major, who got pooh-poohed, made the mistake of ignoring the pooh-pooh. He pooh-poohed it! Fatal error! 'Cos it turned out all along that the soldier who pooh-poohed him had been pooh-poohing a lot of other officers who pooh-poohed their pooh-poohs. In the end, we had to disband the regiment. Morale totally destroyed... by pooh-pooh!

The Liverpool FC show is an interesting buy for C5 - its certainly not going to be short of interesting story lines with Kenny Daglish being sacked. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

Had the BBC chosen to ask BARB to report it as per the football (see below) then it would have had around 15m presumably, which would then have borne a more reasonable comparison in the top TV events of 2012 - of which it would have quite rightly been near the top of the tree, and above other more trivial distractions such as a Cowell dancing dogs or singing chavs contest - and for that matter, a Brucie dancing celebs contest.

The confusion evident from the above exchange makes me think you should keep it simple and keep to how BARB and the networks have chosen to have the shows reported. So 20.34m for BBC1's England v Italy, 16.22m for ITV's England v Ukraine.

Also it would make your nice table of stats look so much neater than breaking down 2 of the entries into three bits...

The pooh-poohing was a ruse. I reckon George slipped a note under Finchy's door the next day...

Some more info from Broadcast:

Quote:
“ITV had been considered favourite to land the documentary, but it is understood it was not prepared to match C5’s bid. The acquisition could be considered surprising, given that C5 has retreated from football after deciding not to renew its Europa League rights deal for next season.

Our Liverpool: Never Walk Alone went into production at the end of last season when Liverpool were preparing to face Chelsea in the FA Cup Final, and will also capture the team on their July tour of North America, during which they play Roma and Tottenham Hotspur. The doc captures a period of change at the club, in which Kenny Dalglish stepped down as manager and Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers took the reins.

Our Liverpool is being produced by Scott Boggins, who has overseen in-depth boxing documentaries for HBO’s 24/7 strand. This involved filming the intimate build-up to fights, such as Manny Pacquiao v Ricky Hatton in 2009.”

wow for that Dynamo rating, think I will pass the Liverpool series

ITV has killed Superstar, less viewers than a tacky talking heads list show.

Not sure where they'd schedule it though now they haven't got the Europa League as a potential lead in.

lol

only good thing about this series, is that if its successful, Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group, might do a similar series for the Red Sox, which might air on Channel 5.

Does anyone know if ITV3's 5.7% primetime share and 4.1% for all-day share on Saturday is a multichannel record? I don't think it is, because BBC Three would have beaten it I would have thought on Friday 19th February 2010. But it must be close.

Also the series average for Million Pound Drop shows how over-exposed it is on Channel 4 when it launched with over two million two years ago.
