For that reason it's a bit odd how dismissive a few can be in this particular thread. They are more tolerant of Big Brother on Gallifrey Base, which is completely bizarre.

As far as BB13's ratings go though, it won't recover from this 1.2 mark now. It's easily the worst series of the show ever and fully deserves the low ratings it is getting. I can only hope the producers get their act together for Celebrity Big Brother next month, and that BB13's viewers mostly forgive and forget.”

Even the most passionate supporters of this show must realise BB is on its last legs. The celeb version is worth keeping for a few more years, as it gets 2-3 million viewers, but the civvy one should be cancelled. Even the celeb mags have deserted it now and I notice the Daily Star rarely has it on the front cover.

I think I've only seen ratings for one day on here myself (although could be wrong) but the ratings I saw in post #2833 said 3.11m.

IMHO There has to be a real chance of it breaking a new record for low numbers soon.

And maybe a weeknight show hitting 1 million under.
Putting them all up for the public vote with 2 going Would be my first idea. And Maybe C5 getting off its high horse and treating fans in a softer fashion The problem with CBB its heading into overkill only takes the mix of Celebs to be off and thats heading for problems also.

Both are old, stale formats now. I think Channel 5 should seriously look at spending the money on something else as clearly BB is in terminal decline now.

It really isn't the worst series of the show ever. I have suffered through far, far worse than this series. In fact I have quite enjoyed this series, it's been very compelling to watch.

You're entitled to your opinion but personally I think it's been mismanaged pretty much from the start. Not a week goes by without them stuffing things up somehow. It's felt like one kick in the teeth after another and so of course the viewers drop away. It should come as no shock to anyone involved with the programme or the channel that it is where it is now, you only have to watch a few episodes to see what's wrong with this series.

Why the surprise? I'm always honest, always. It breaks my heart for the show to be in such a sorry state and the ratings to be so low, but there's no getting away from it.

P.S. Have you changed your username? I don't recall us chatting previously.

Corrie had ONE rat - an escaped pet - in a storyline straight out of Fawlty Towers and played for laughs with an inspector in the building at the time who was constantly moved around until said rat was returned home.

Now was the rat a Siberian hamster by any chance I think if the soaps adopted lighter storylines like this they will find more people will watch.

They are spending lots on US imports as well with four major US series acquired this year alone, including arguably the three hottest new shows of the season.

But there's room for both and Celebrity Big Brother, easily the most popular entertainment programme on the channel, appears to have plenty of life in yet. You say it's in terminal decline and yet ratings for CBB in January were about the same or only ever so slightly down on the previous series in August and still at a very healthy level indeed for C5, albeit well down on the show's heyday.

Is it normal the Ratings are Delayed like this on the weekend?

Agreed, which is where Corrie scores TBH.

Mary wooing Roy Cropper has had its moments and the scene were she says: 'I just dropped some picalilli on your bishop' will no doubt be replayed decades from now. Corrie makes such a scene work because the characters are believably innocent whereas in East Enders it would have come across as tawdry.

Hi, I meant BB and did comment that CBB should be kept as it is a home grown banker for Channel 5. I must admit, like you, I far prefer Channel 5 to ITV 1 now.
Maybe Channel 5 could see what reality shows they could buy in should BB( civvy one) really stiff. Have they ever thought of making a bid for Geordie Shore, which would be ideal for an 11-12 slot.

Yes. The only source that updates with ratings at the weekend is Digital Spy, and that isn't even reliable on weekdays at the moment.

10M to less than 1M is more than just a stale format, even the most adamant C5 fans have conceded they've made many mistakes.

Ah.
That makes sense now Posted in the BB Ratings thread why the +1's seem to have vanished for a while

Let's hope not.

I'd rather they continued along their current course of more spend on top acquisitions that are regularly amongst the highest rated shows of the week with audiences, and more spend on homegrown programmes of substance (they say they want their own Dragons' Den style show where the format is the star, and they are always looking for youthful appointment-to-view programmes that could sit alongside BB). Eventually things will turn good for them if they keep on this path. They need to play to their strengths, and not get too distracted by what's working very well for some digital channel. More film and sport would also be a good move for the network as they can fill a number of hours effectively, enhancing audience share.

It's DS policy to only report the +1 figures for a programme if they are above 100k.

I know i was being Sarcastic.

EastEnders and the Fleas: Many fans complained about the new look 'Vic' since the Fire in 2010 so they are giving it a make over and rather than blowing the place up again they have introduced this storyline as an excuse.

EE tanking on Thursday night with Emmerdale beating it by 200k and it wasn't even a clash episode. Got to be honest, i didn't see that coming.

Getting the FA Cup would be the biggest coup ever for them as this can get 8 million viewers for a big tie and could make millions in advertising revenue. If I was Des, I'd sacrifice BB for the FA Cup. People then would realise Channel 5 was more than cast off shows from other channels, which is patently untrue as we both know, and maybe try some of their shows.
Channel 5 has also mercifully stopped going down the ITV2 route of doing reality shows based around zelebs like Tamara Ecclestone as apart from being awful, viewers weren't interested.

They need to boot it up the backside; that much is certain. Conor needed to get his just deserts...that hasn't happened. To see Lauren going above him and the clique was painful but sometimes things happen which shouldn't. Now they need to be strong and try and swing favour back to the Outsiders. It can easily be done.

The predictions game is going to have a big update when we finally get ratings through. At this rate week 4 will start before I can finish week 3!
