CSI: Miami: 1.2m (7%); +1: 77k
Might look slightly low but share is fine and in line with last season. 10.10pm slot was awkward to say the least, timeshifting could be high for this one. |

According to Attentional yesterday's top performer in 'Sport' was coverage of The Open with 2.4m across 6.5 hours.

Good for the TDF in historical terms, but a little underwhelming given the large amount of media coverage of this superb British sporting triumph over the weekend, and very probably the key sporting moment of the year for the likely 2012 SPOTY and imminent sporting knight.

http://www.attentional.com/screenwat...-JULY-2012.png ![]() Not good for Wallander either losing another million on the week. This latest trilogy has been something of a disappointment for me and it seems that viewers agree. |

His lordship only went to ITV because the BBC rejected the idea of an LE programme involving Jesus Christ. I suspect his next venture will be back with the BBC.

From talking to some people today, if all the people who said they were watching actually were watching, it should have been higher. But still it is by far the highest figure it has ever got.
Might not take into account the ITV1/4 split audience though? Wasnt there a F1 race yesterday? |

It was overcast in these parts last night, in DOI's northern "Asda Price" heartland.

I feel your pain. Maybe we can organise a relief mission to bring in woolie cardigans to keep you going.
I was flicking from F1 to Golf to Cricket to TdF and back from 12 noon until 7pm. We did have a mini heatwave in the NorthWest - it was warm enough to get out the 16" fan!! |

Some saturday night ratings
ITV's finale of Primeval drew just 1.7 million on Saturday (July 21) evening, its lowest terrestrial audience ever.
Only 1.38m (10.2%) chose to watch the sci-fi drama's series-five climax at 7.30pm, adding a further 327k (2.1%) on ITV1 +1. Primeval's fifth run has already aired on Watch - averaging around 500k - as part of a co-production deal between ITV and UKTV following its initial cancellation in 2009. Meanwhile, the franchise will continue exclusively on the digital channel with spinoff New World. You've Been Framed followed on ITV with 2.11m (13.5%) at 6.30pm (+1: 295k/1.7%), then 2.61m (14.7%) watched The Cube at 7.30pm (+1: 160k/0.8%), and TV's Biggest Blockbusters rounded off a quiet night with 2.03m (10.2%) from 8.30pm (+1: 102k/0.6%). BBC One fared much better with its Indiana Jones film, The Last Crusade (4.1m/24.5%) kicking off the evening at 6.30pm, after which Casualty grabbed 4.39m (21.6%), and a repeat of Mrs Brown's Boys amused 3.74m (22.2%) at 10.30pm. Channel 4's celebrity Million Pound Drop Live attracted 1.3m (7.2%) from the early time of 7.15pm (+1: 162k/0.8%). 9pm movie Date Night then logged 1.41m (7.1%) and 236k (1.5%) on +1. Doc Martin gave ITV3 a boost with 1.12m (6%) from 8pm, ranking as the day's most-watched multichannel show. CSI: Miami was Channel 5's best-rated broadcast with 1.22m (7%) at 10pm, higher than Big Brother's 886k (4.4%) in the 9pm hour and 125k (0.7%) on timeshift. BBC Two failed to surpass a million viewers all evening, with its screening of The Hollow Crown only managing 670k (3.4%). Overall, BBC One led a one-horse race with 23.3%, while ITV1 had 11.5% (+1: 1%). Channel 4 finished third with 6.7% (+1: 1%), ITV3 slotted in at fourth with 4.9%, Channel 5 had 4.2% (+1: 0.3%) in fifth, and BBC Two was last with 4.1%. |

Brilliant ratings for the Tour de France, I expect many who had never even seen the event before tuned in yesterday afternoon. The other sporting events of the day also did well. Wallender seems to have dropped a lot over its run but at 4.4m it is level with previous series so not a disaster by any means. It did start this series very high due to the Andy Murray lead-in. Casualty seems a bit low for their big episodes this weekend, expected 5m for the Sunday episode however 8:10pm is not a good starting junction. Over on ITV1, I'm not sure what that Dancing on Ice program consisted of so no idea what the expectations were for that. |
