Now the sound is failing again during BBC1's weather forecast. Annoying.

I know that but it will start to clash with Strictly Come Dancing and Merlin. Unless they pull the stunt in 2010 with In It to Win It and have the few remaining episodes until the new year.

They are having some problems as the BBC confirmed on Twitter

'Apologies for any sound issues. Engineers are looking into the matter '

the BBC should air them all on TV at some stage, that is what we pay our licence fee for after all.

we should shut Twitter down at 11pm every night, it will only improve society.

Well it might keep the Electric bills down with everyone being bored and going to bed

Doesn't Casualty have less episodes this year anyway? I imagine they'll have a feature length finale which is a two parter anyway or split it across the weekend.

This series was only 41 eps so isn't that sorter than normal? The final 2 eps (tonights was ep 39) is a 2 parter

That will allow people to get to bed safely.

That's what I had in mind: delay the start of the new lottery series in the autumn (In It to Win it or whatever), play Secret Fortune and then put a couple of the next series' episodes back to January.

A lot people giving @BBCOneUK grief on Twitter about Casualty in particular. One odd response they gave someone at 23:12:

Quote:
“@OfficialKatieW Hi Katie, if tonight's episode is postponed it will air before next Saturday. @bbcpress to confirm tomorrow.”

Before? I'm sure they said it would air next Saturday. (Or was that just Raiders? The rosé wine is beginning to tell...) They are definitely flagging up the iPlayer availability of tonight's postponed episode, though, so it's not a mistake. I suppose it helps to assuage the anger somewhat

Yes, 41 (or 42) episodes this series, 47-49 the previous few years.
My boring explanation of why this series seems to be runnning just as long as usual is here.

Slight surprise: Murray second on Court 1 on Monday.

Looks like deliberate attempt to avoid another "night" session - Federer and Djokovic both on Centre vs unseeded opponents.

I wonder if delaying Casualty a week, will have any bearing on the Red Button special.

EastEnders should be safe on Monday, then.

Yep - no danger of the Ratings Thread clocking up another 10 pages on Monday evening.

I think it makes sense for both Wimbledon and the BBC:

I don't think Wimbledon wants night sessions happening too frequently - they want it to remain a daytime event with the roof only used when necessary.

The BBC may feel they've had enough of a good thing this week and don't want another evening of BBC1 disruption on Monday - best to keep it irregular (and therefore more special) rather than it becoming the norm.

I'd imagine they'll do something like this on Friday:

8.30 Would I Like to You?/Have I Got Old News for You?
9.10 Casualty

or...

8.30 Casualty
9.20 Would I Like to You?/Have I Got Old News for You?

Just need to hope Murray doesn't play in a semi-final that runs on and on that day.

I didn't bother - all the same points seem to be made every time it happens!

ive got an idea, the BBC can air Casualty at 9pm on Friday, then a 10 minute Bugs Bunny cartoon, and then we can see what kind of ratings the BBC News gets with almost no lead in worth mentioning.
