It would get double ITV News at Ten and the Bugs Bunny cartoon would be the highest rated programme of the day

I'd be more likely to sit through Bugs Bunny than Coast. Indeed when I was growing up it was almost always cartoons (Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry etc.) used as filler if required when they had a few minutes going spare.

Is there a reason why night sessions rarely happen at Wimbledon? I know they have night sessions for the Australian Open and US Open but that those courts are hard surfaces rather than grass, is grass more suscepitible to artificial light?

When they built the roof they said they were not changing the character of the event - the roof would only be used if it rained or to complete a match in progress.

But matches would be scheduled exactly as they were before the roof was built - ie with the expectation of finishing in daylight.

Thanks, I imagine the BBC would like to see more night sessions but given the matches can run quite long anyway, it would be a logistical nightmare,

Some frayed tempers here tonight, I was out in the city for the night, most pubs were showing Murray and people were glued to the screens. As soon as I got a WiFi connection about 11:30pm I checked this thread...........there was a lot of waffle as expected.. no ratings that I could see over 10 or so pages.

I think we could see an 8m peak tonight on BBC1, maybe an average of 6m for the final tennis slot up to 11pm.... YCBS could be a series low, OOTP could be in the mid 2.5m range.

Tonight was another example that this thread has far too many posters and should be split into separate scheduling and ratings discussion threads.

I dont get why so many people have to give a running commentary when people can just watch BBC1 if they are interested in whats happening.

I don't mind people posting 'filler' here in off peak hours, but it does get repetitive. The main thing is that Andy Murray has made Week 2 and he can potentially mess with schedules at least once more

If Monday's schedule is rain delayed, Murray's match could easily stray into primetime. BBC1 coverage runs to 6:00pm on Monday, I wonder would they bump the News hour to BBC2 if the match was ongoing?

It will and should be shown next week. They've done this with a few shows on Channel 4 - catch it on 4oD before they show it on TV. Obviously, there are different circumstances here.

Of course the Austrlian Open didn't finish until 01:30 in the mrning this year. The BBC should look into getting Wimbledon to play out more evening matches, the Australian Open final doesnt start until 19:30 I think, so a big primetime event
Thank you

Not exactly hot off the press but it has now been confirmed that CBS are going to "un-cancel" Unforgettable and run a 13 episode season next summer. Lifetime and TNT had been interested but it seems a deal has been done (presumably involving CBS paying less!) which the network are probably hoping will give them some much needed original content in the summer.

One network project which is heading to cable is Marc Cherry's Devious Maids. ABC passed on the pilot from the Desperate Housewives creator (second season running where they've knocked back one of his pilots) but female skewing Lifetime has picked it up.

SHAMELESS PLUG #2

The new season of the Ratings Prediction Game is now open for predictions! It includes the Wimbledon final (as Wimbledon is generating a lot of debate on here at the moment) as well as series launches of Blackout, Let's Get Gold and Superstar so please have a go and see how well you do against the other competitors.

The first schedule of the season is here:

Good grief, come into a "Ratings" thread to look at some ratings, and there are just pages and pages of bat and ball updates. What a joke

Well ratings are only posted once or twice a day depending on when they are released.

...the next set of ratings will be released in about 35 minutes.

If 150k BB fans could sit and watch hours of people fast asleep, then then I think 100k would be prepared to watch again a group of people who are actually awake.

I'd suggest Road Wars on Pick TV has a large porpotion of repeat offenders who've watched the same episode numerous times in the same week.

It would not suprise me if many fans of Judge Judy used to watch it each 3 times a day on ITV2.

SW19 Weather Forecast from the Met Office:

Monday: 10am-4pm Light rain; 4-7pm Heavy rain; 7-10pm Light rain.
Tuesday: 10am-1am Wednesday morning Light rain
Wednesday: 10am-1pm Light rain; 1-4pm Light rain showers; 4-7pm Light rain; 7-10pm Sunny intervals.
Thursday: 10am-10pm Showers.

Basically it looks like Wimbledon could face a huge backlog - and Murray not on Centre tomorrow could become a big disadvantage.

As long as the tennis outrates the normal schedule, there ought be less backlash for changing things around last minute for live sport.

I assume a 5-minute peak for Murray may be over 9 million, which would be great.

Really ' a scheduling' headache? The last Casualty 2 parter can be easily combined, they've done it in the past and it doesn't matter whether Secret Fortune airs in October or January 2013. It's a pre recorded stand alone lottery quiz for Heavens sake.

Of course, the BBC wouldnt have changed the schedule if they thought it would create potential future scheduling problems - hence why they changed the schedule on bbc2 and not bbc1
