Last year if I remember correctly the Regional News was moved to 10.25 (a 20 minute programme) with a 5 minute update after the Tennis. News at Six was moved to BBC2.

Then on the Friday Tennis finished at 8, EastEnders was shown followed by Regional News at 8.30.

I think tomorrow the Regional News will be delayed with 8pm being the latest start time. If the Tennis continues after 8 then it'll be on at 10.25 I think.

Yes because ITV's legendary PR operation always results in a hit *cough* Daybreak *cough*...

Quick check of part 21 of this thread and that's exactly what happened on the Wednesday. Wimbledon 2011 averaged 4m (34.9%) between 1.45 and 7 on BBC One and peaked with 7m at 6.30. Incidentally The Apprentice got 7.8m that evening in the overnights, most watched programme of the day.

Here's how the first of last year's Undercover Boss did against the competition, with this year's figures in bold brackets:

BBC Two
21:00 - Should I Test My Genes: 930k (4.0%) [7/7...One Day in London: 1.56m (7.2%)]
ITV1
21:00 - Sextuplets: 3.04m (13.2%), +1: 201k (1.1%) [Real Chariots of Fire: 2.01m (8.4%), +1: 88k (0.5%)]
Channel 4
21:00 - Undercover Boss: 2.59m (11.2%), +1: 358k (2.0%) [1.80m (7.9%), +1: 292k (1.7%)]]
Channel 5
21:00 - CSI: 917k (4.0%) [Big Brother: 1.24m (5.5%), +1: 144k]”

The BBC2 factual competition was tougher this year, but ITV1 was 1m weaker (as was BBC1's drama). So I think C4 might be a bit disappointed with that peformance.

Excluding +1, total terrestrial viewing in the 9pm hour was 13.22m (57.2%) last year, 11.08m (48.6%) last night. People are apparently more willing to seek alternatives now.

We all know what game you are playing, raising the bar so high even a decent performance would be branded as poor

I wonder how many viewers this will lose tonight up against another Ramsay show on a bigger channel?

It was purely by chance I spotted it on the EPG just now as they don't normally split it across two nights.

No matter how good the pr, you can't polish a turd!

ITV are very good at promoting their talent show portfolio, and this has the benefit of being a successful BBC1 franchise being transferred across. I genuinely think it will do well.

The opposite of over-downplaying expectations.

Can bite you on the bum though, like when you predict only 2m will watch your football final coverage, so your clients are happy when you deliver 3m - but you actually manage 1.9m.

Thanks for those.

So in terms of overnights only, the 3h45min coverage of England v Italy was watched on average by 35.5% of all ABC1 adults, 30.6% of all 18-49s, 27.5% of all 16-34s and (most surprisingly) 30.3% of all housewives with children!

The Wimbledon night matches were the most upmarket broadcasts in that list - 63% skewed to the ABC1 demo on Friday for Federer, 60% on Saturday for Murray.
EDIT: and both tennis matches were slightly female-skewing.

Do you have a final update on the Euro 2012 tournament match averages? Thanks.

It has been damp but very humid and unbearable at times, which is the worst of both worlds as it's hot but the weather is too bad to go out.

If it is even a 6.1m rating this Sunday then all 28 RPG players will score zero points (top guess was 5.0m, I went for 4.9m, the average prediction for the opening auditions is 4.4m
