No, it wasn't picked up yesterday.

Because it happened today. About two hours ago.

Maybe they should move EE to BBC2?

HD viewers don't get much luck, do they?

Might as well get the viewers used to it.

On that subject I think EastEnders could drop to some historic lows during the Olympics.

Brief news update scheduled at 8.27 on Sky EPG - news and regional news? Is that right? The 6.30 news played out as normal didn't it? DIY cut back to 37 mins - odd.

EDIT: it's the usual 90-second update, ignore.

Some of the time that is the right attitude. This maybe a ratings thread, but ratings aren't everything for PSB shows such as Panorama and Crimewatch (so long as they aren't horrendously low). However it obviously isn't the right attitude all of the time

There will also have been Olympic torch coverage in a couple of regions tonight

Yes and no. It is an odd time, but 7.30pm is Corrie, so thats not an option, and it will provide a good lead in to 'When I Get Older' - which is part of the fairly high profile series on old age BBC1 are running - and a good example of PSB programming that BBC1 should be trying to get people to watch

An hour on Thursday would have meant an Emmerdale clash, which would have done neither show any good

Well Murray is through. Someone said earlier about BBC uniting nation for sport - why can't they 'unite' it over on BBC Two. I could understand if it was semi-final or final, but this is now. BBC are fortunate to have two channels everyone in the land can reach, in fact next to each on all guides - so easy to go up one.

Murray done and I'd say he will probably be last on Centre on Friday for a semi-final. Murray has equalled his best result in Wimbledon.

He's still got a tough match, but it's the best chance we've had of a Brit in a Wimbledon final in a generation.

Potential for huge ratings on Sunday should that happen.

But people don't - we know they don't. For whatever reason, people don't turn to BBC2 in large numbers.

8:00pm tonight could have worked. All the BEEB had todo was put My family or something 7:30-8:00pm.
Well ITV done an Hour Emmerdale last night and as seen before when Enders has the 30min lead it comes out by quite some on top. I'd call it a case of what goes around comes around

anyway looks like it will be on as planned at 8:30

In a parallel universe, ITV might have had a 2nd channel back in the 60s - some committee decided the BBC deserved it more for being higher-quality, and thus BBC2 was born, in 1964. The opening night was a bit of a technical disaster though, I've read.

Well f*** 'em! If they can't be bothered to change channels they don't deserve to watch tennis

Yes, Murray or no Murray that wasn't great scheduling from F1.

I think the F1 calendar has been very poor this year from that perspective - they clashed with Euro 2012 too and despite taking over a month off in August, have still managed to schedule a GP during London 2012, which is quite a feat (why not schedule the break during the Olympics?)

There will be no EastEnders tonight due to the Olympic Opening Ceremony

I expect the 9:00pm EastEnders to rate well...i expect loads of promo for the episode too and a later slot right after Corrie works well i think

could this be a mental condition thing, the BBC has done on us.

The BBC moves important matches to BBC 1, sometimes in primetime.

There for we are conditioned to think that if a Tennis match is on BBC 1 primetime, it must be important. keep it on BBC 2 however, and that mental trigger is not flicked, and people just assume its bog standard tennis.
