Some of the time that is the right attitude. This maybe a ratings thread, but ratings aren't everything for PSB shows such as Panorama and Crimewatch (so long as they aren't horrendously low). However it obviously isn't the right attitude all of the time

Yes and no. It is an odd time, but 7.30pm is Corrie, so thats not an option, and it will provide a good lead in to 'When I Get Older' - which is part of the fairly high profile series on old age BBC1 are running - and a good example of PSB programming that BBC1 should be trying to get people to watch
An hour on Thursday would have meant an Emmerdale clash, which would have done neither show any good
