Communicate with producers at Wimbledon, as if they would do something like that, the very idea of such a thing would no doubt be considered madness at the BBC.

Well they were probably to busy quaffing champagne to be looking at the sky to see if it was raining.

Well there you go, proof that they did the wight thing by moving Murray, it might not have done EE much good however but that might have been because it was on a very strange time.

Very good peak for Murray last night, and given the BBC Two ratings from 18:00 to 19:00, the right decision to move it back to BBC One.

As for EastEnders and 5.4 million, I guess out of it's usual slot would explain it. I wouldn't say poor lead-in, because I couldn't envisage DIY SOS doing much better when the first half was scheduled against Corrie.

I'm impressed that AQoS got such a good rating 2 days after original airing (usually Beeb has some bizarre 2 week rpt)

bring back AQoS to primetime!!!!

That daytime BBC1 rating is very good, is it usually that high? To get an average of 3m from 1.45pm-6pm on a weekday afternoon seems pretty good to me. Of course a lot of that will be as a result of the Murray factor.

BBC bosses vindicated again then, despite the wailing and moaning from some quarters.

Perhaps they might look to moving QOS back to a proper primetime slot; it never lets them down when it does appear away from the soaps. Better than DIY SOS and the like.

They could restore it to Thursdays at 8.30 when Coro moves?

It's not a winning argument to point out ratings increase with a move from BBC2 -> BBC1 !

Of course it is an explanation as to why they do it. But it's not a justification.

The BBC should be putting the overall service ahead of mere ratings.

Moves are so crass and grabbing. I'm amazed that anyone would defend the BBC in this kind of behaviour.

EE was a bit silly last night, it might have dropped some viewers due to the theme. Nice Wimbledon ratings, a shame the rain interrupts at times in July. SW19 bosses ought have weather forecasts like F1 does, they know how far away rain is - it seems

Given how well Murray had been rating on BBC Two, it looks like the move was a little pointless.

Eastenders - 5.42m (24.5%)
BBC3 - 998k (5.0%)

Last night was even lower than the Emmerdale clash episode from Tuesday. The 8:30pm slot really isolated Eastenders last night.

Yeah it was away from any junctions as most junctions were either at 8pm or at 9pm.

Eastenders didn't do too well, even out of normal schedule.

Getting a bit tense isn't it?

Someone should merge the 2 of you.

That would leave someone who liked all TV

I hardly watch any telly, and George just watches bad BBC programmes so he can complain about them.

I think it was right that BBC1 screened the match last night, it's important moment for a British player, they did the same with Tim Henman when he was at his peak, so I see no reason why they shouldn't do the same for Andy Murray whether you like him or not, it is a big moment for British sport and Tennis, if he does get through to the final it will be one of the biggest TV events of the year, as we haven't had a British male winner sine 1936 when Fred Perry won.

I do think BBC1 should be airing the F1 build up and race on Sunday, with tennis build up and opening couple of games on BBC2, moving to BBC1 when the race finishes, with the F1 post race moving to BBC2. The two events will overlap for probably 15 mins, and BBC1 could air both.
