1.7m/8.0% for series premiere of The Hotel Inspector. Get in! Great episode it was too.

What is particularly worrying is that Let's Get Gold was ITV's attempt to cash in on the Olympics. All that commercial money going about and people wanting to be associated with it and without actually having the games ITV has this run-up period to soak up the advertising and this is the best they can do... it's embarrassing really.

To be fair, ITV have only had seven years to come up with a good idea for an Olympic-themed entertainment show.

Melanie Sykes was just on This Morning she said the show 'My Man Can' she is presenting with Mark Wright is filming in September and going to be on ITV1 Saturday nights in January 2013. Gonna be a "massive prime time game show" apparantly.

Thats no true really. You have rather over simplified how advertising sales work - ie. you can only sell Olympic themed advertising in an olympics themed show. The pre-Olympic advertising is across all programmes. If anything, its the Webber show that is the major pre-Olympic programming event between now & the Olympics.
It's the right strategy for ITV. Unfortunately, as is so often the case, the execution is a shambles. |

Let's Get Gold was commissioned for one purpose - to cash in on this pre-Olympics period. Simple as that. That is how it would have been pitched to advertisers, as ITV regularly do. And given, as has already been pointed out, the show failed to get a sponsor, it suggests it went down about as well with them as it did with the audience. It's the same reason NBC has commissioned Stars Earn Stripes. |

I guess the issue may be whether Lineker would actually want to do both Sat and Sun every week.
Whatever his contract says it could obviously be changed by agreement but it may well be that he just doesn't want to do both nights. |

Roof is closed at Wimbledon already, I expect it will be all day now. With such poor weather across most of England and Wales today and tonight could we see big ratings tonight as people are more likely to stay in?

If Dynamo hadn't signed a deal with UKTV then I imagine one of the main broadcasters would try and poach him. Channel 4 I imagine would pay big bucks.

Don't forget he also has contractual obligations to Al Jazeera
But it's a good point in the sense that it's more workload so two nights for the BBC + AJ CL may be more than he wants. |

The show got 1.21m total viewers and a 3.1 rating in the Males 16-34 demo, almost as high as the Simpsons on C4 (3.3 in that demo, 1.38m total viewers) (all figures inc +1 and are from C4 Sales) Also, ITV Media reports Dynamo's show was a record programme audience for Watch and contributed to its best prime time ever. No. 1 multichannel show last night. |
