Wow, not too good for BB, but will pick up tonight for the most anticipated eviction since it's move to Ch5. But MPW, What in the hell?

MPW's show is dire
He was good in Hells kitchen he really can install the fear of God in people.
I wish ITV would start doing that show again because it was something you really wanted to watch.

They've opened the roof too, so we can probably expect a 30-minute break to close it later in the evening. The BBC will be hoping for that to fall around 6.30pm.

I expect the scheduling will be quite easy this afternoon as they are quite early on court.

If the match is almost done by 6pm then delay the news and run it on BBC1 a bit late.

If the match still has long to go at 6pm then move the Six to BBC2. The regional news can then follow at either 7:00 or 7:30 on BBC1, or if the match went even longer, it could air at 8:30 after EastEnders.

Woah that's pretty dreadful!

Hotel Inspector did well to get 1.7m sandwiched between those two

Massive drop for BB from the previous night

It's going to be a short sharp flop zone as it's on tonight and tomorrow as well. Superstar now looks very exposed now with The Cube (which seems to struggle to pick up an audience now) and Let's Get Gold either side of it. It's going to have to hold up on it's own merits.

Coronation Street especially picked up a poor share relatively speaking last night. EastEnders did ok and Emmerdale didn't disgrace itself. Big Brother suffered something of a dip which I can't fathom considering the lack of opposition as well as The Hotel Inspector giving it a very good lead in. Marco Pierre's Kitchen Wars flopped badly. Michael Johnson: Survival of the Fittest didn't do as well as I thought it would and the E4 first look showing of Hollyoaks is very close to the Channel 4 showing.

Yeah, I don't know what happened to BB there. But tonight's eviction should do well... what's the deal with the Wimbledon today? Murray or anyone big going to be still in play after 9pm?

I think Kitchen Wars will be shunted to 7pm or Sunday afternoon. Proof that MPW is not TV material.

Murray's on court now and has already broken in the first set. It'll have to be a marathon of a game to stretch to 9pm though the news and The One Show could be moved.

If Murray gets to the final, it'll be double the normal Wimbledon final ratings although the peak will probably depends if he wins against Federer.

looking at ITV 1s next two Saturdays, its going to see some very low numbers.

The peak would be pretty massive if it's a close one in the final.

As for EastEnders, I think it did well to keep viewers after Wednesdays effort, I was worried people had given up on it totally. It will have helped that some didnt know it was on, so didnt see it.

Let's Get Gold, well ITV wish to open a second (or third) flop zone, is apparently coming true, it will be lucky to stay about 2 million by the end of its run.

How I Met Your Mother: isnt great for a first run episode, but then 20:30 is an odd time.”

ITV entertainment is a complete shambles away from the Cowell shows, IAC and DOI, and CTM knocked that down by 2 million. Their obsession with shows involving celebrities, who quite often aren't celebs, and always aiming for the bottom of the viewing market for entertainment shows is proving to deliver flop after flop.
I really think ITV should now look to having more Audience With shows, where a decent singer or entertainer can pull in 4-5 million viewers, have some cheap but cheerful and watchable Best Pop Songs Ever type shows and maybe revive some classic game shows with members of the general public and without some ironic style presenter.

so something like

Quote:
“MUSIC: The Nation's Favourite Number 1 Single
On: ITV1 Anglia
Date: Saturday 14th July 2012 (starting in 8 days)
Time: 21:00 to 22:30 (1 hour and 30 minutes long)

Fearne Cotton presents the second in a three-part programme. The search for the greatest chart-topper of them all enters the top 40, revealing more of the number one singles voted by the public as the greatest of all time. Plus the stars tell more of the stories behind the songs.

It's really hard to guess what the ratings would be because the last time a British man reached the final of Wimbledon was 1938. Only the second year the Championships were televised! I doubt we have ratings from back then.

It would be one of those amazing TV moments. Restricted somewhat by being daytime rather than evening, but still has potential to be huge.

Don't wish to tempt fate, but Murray is playing excellently here and has been dominating from the start...

Murray's been superb and the way he's been playing, this game could be finished before the 6 o'Clock News.

If Murray wins today's semi-final (looking very likely) the media tonight and tomorrow will whip up a bit of a frenzy me thinks. Sunday papers will certainly help too.I think the main thing here is the overwhelming historical significance of a Briton in the final and possibly winning. I can easily see a 14m average and 17m peak even if it is daytime.

They have options tonight of 6.30, 7.30 or 8.30 for the regional news, so if Murray doesn't wrap up the match in the next half hour I'd certainly move the 6pm news to BBC2 and then schedule the regional news as required. I think even if this went to a fifth there is a strong chance it would wrap up by 7.30pm.

Really no idea how it would rate on Sunday as it is something kind of untested - I don't think the average or peaks would be massive, but the 10m barrier should be broken, and of course it'll be higher if Sunday is another washout.

So Murray has only done this because Nadal is out? That's what i've heard a few on the news say. I'd be rattled by that if i was Murray thinking i can only win because one the best tennis players in our generation was knocked out early.

But the British GP will dent Wimbledon coverage, let's not forget. And Murray's having a minor shocker in the third set, a break of serve down.

That's certainly a horrendous rating for 8pm, must be the lowest of the year in fact. At first I thought DS may have copied over the rating for the 7pm programme by mistake, but it's probably correct thinking about it.

Shame it hasn't worked out. It's not groundbreaking but equally it's quite watchable IMO and certainly doesn't deserve to be that low. I think I'd go along with the fact that MPW isn't really a popular enough personality to anchor this kind of show and make it successful. Him trying to be all big and menacing with his knife got old about 5 minutes into the first episode, sadly.

I think it also got lost amongst the launch publicity for Big Brother. I know you've said C5 themselves pushed it quite a bit but outside of the channel and this thread I've not even seen the show mentioned.

He's still a good player and I think getting to the final is an achievement in itself, he's reached finals before in the US and Australian so it's not down to luck.
