You really think World's Toughest Prisons is doing OK because of changes to C4 News? Not sure I can see the crossover in audience. C4N is almost always around 700k when I've seen it posted.

There would be some degree of crossover, given that the C4 News skews young and male.

And the C4 News audience IS down. Even Ofcom recently voiced concern about it.

F1 lunchtime races peaked at over 6m viewers many times last year. The British GP peaked with 6.6m last year.

The news bulletins have been all over Wimbledon. Murray was the top story on BBC, ITV, Channel 5 and Sky last night (didn't see Channel 4).

The media are all over Murray, I can see a high average and a huge peak on Sunday afternoon, whether Murray wins or loses. The interest is going to be phenomonal. Incidentally, people are being told to stay away from Silverstone qualifying today due to flooding. Couldn't have turned out much worse for them, and that's coming from an F1 fan.

Am I right in thinking Sky are funding the transmission costs of the 24 SD and HD Olympic channels they're providing to the BBC? Bit annoying for them if they can't be promoted properly. However the BBC are bound to refer to the ways to watch frequently (albeit generically on 'satellite').

I removed my post because it wasn't 100% accurate. They are having to generically refer to "Believe in Britain" and "The moment is here" in most of their ads, but they do have an Olympics specific one which does refer directly to the games, but as "the BBC's coverage of the Olympic Games".

Last year's final averaged 18k!!

Sky's 3D subscriber base has tripled in the last year, so figures could be much better, but hindered by not being live but on a ninety minute time delay because of F1.

Super peak for Murray! The out-of-slot regional news and One Show did well against the soaps. Let's Get Gold loses almost 2:1 to a New Tricks repeat!

Very impressive peak figure last night. The final rating tomorrow will be huge, I can see a 13m + peak tomorrow based on this. If the final were in primetime probably close to 17m/18m peak.

Is the 2nd Coronation Street rating the full slot rating? It seems a big drop on the 7:30 rating otherwise.

It is a tape-checked rating between 20.25-20.55 as it started a few minutes early last night (20.27). The 20.25-20.30 period, which includes a bit of Grimefighters, contributed in dragging down the average.

Yeah you're right - it was Dan Snow's Norman Walks from 6.30pm, replacing Wimbledon as it was on the other side and the BBC wanted to provide an alternative in primetime [EDIT: as the BBC defines it]. Wimbledon continued at 7pm.

All-day shares for yesterday: BBC 1: 29.4%, ITV1 inc +1: 14.5% (from C4 Sales)

I wonder if the BBC 10pm news saw a boost as so many missed the 6pm?

C5 cut the livecoverage from 60 mins to 30 mins
