Neighbours scored its biggest overnight ratings since April 18 yesterday. (1.74m)

Amazing what a bit of promotion can do. Oh, and it helps that Pointless and The Chase are off air.

Am going to do a separate chart as well, will post shortly....”

That's very interesting, thanks D.M.N.

As a Freeview viewer I sometimes wonder whether I'm missing anything by not going for pay TV. It seems from your data that I'm not - much. All the most watched top 30 have figures well above all the 'multi-channel' ones. But is it just that figures are lower because some people can't view them? It must mean lots of people aren't convinced the extra choice is worth the extra cost. And lots of the people who made those top 30 figures so large do subscribe to pay TV but chose to watch those popular programmes along with the non-subscribers.

Even among the second list of multi-channel viewing figures, I can watch nearly half of them on Freeview. Of those I can't view, most are sport which I could get on terrestrial for a fee without changing my viewing in any other way. I'm not much of a sport fan but I did watch the top events like Wimbledon, Fa and Euros, on Freeview.

There's also a big gap in viewers between the 30th position of the first list, 7m and the top of the second under 3m. Does anyone know how far down the first list beyond 30th would you have to go to match the figures at the top of the multi-channel list?

Edit: I suppose the answer's obvious, pay tv gives more choice which only getting 30-ish channels I don't get. But as I said subscribers still choose lots of the non-subsciption fare but don't have to.

At least down to 1,000 I would have thought.

In the official BARB ratings they have the England v Italy match listed separately from the pre and post match portion of the coverage. So I think 20.34 will be the official rating for it.

Last week former Eldorado crew member Paul Davies called for the soap to return. "I would argue...it was ambitious, ahead of its time and an example of the BBC machine working at its very best."

The soap, which cost British taxpayers £10m - with £2m alone being blown on the huge set in the town of Coín in Malaga - only ran for one year before being axed by incoming director general Alan Yentob in 1993.

Eastenders starting to climb up again, which is good to see, nearly hitting 8m. This is around what it should be getting. Blackout... that is quite a fall, I heard a negative response but normally negative responses doesn't cause a BBC1 show to drop that far from first to second audience.

Good for BBC2 with Volcano Live, above it's slot average. CS still doing the best out of the soaps. The new series of Millionaire got off to a great start, isn't that one of the highest ITV rating (non soap) since the Euro's finished?

Neighbours got a great combined audience on Five, and Big Brother continues to grow and received its highest HL audience in around three weeks.

Decent for The Riots Aftershock, I managed to catch it late last night and I thought it was really interesting. And Big Bang Theory still doing very well especially for repeats!!

Fantastic official rating for Geordie Shore (26/6) on MTV.. 840k, making it by far the most watched show ever on MTV UK. Could it top 1m this series? Infact, if you include the three repeats which have also made the top 10, it has a combined total of 1.01m.

The programme in second place only got 151k.

The silly season has started early this year then?

Perhaps they could film Prize (Turkey) Island at the old set...?

If they add the Primeval dinosaurs to Prize Island as per my earlier post and get Z list celebs to be 'Avatars' fighting them to win the buried treasure on behalf of the contestants it could work. Then you can root for the couples, or the T Rexes, depending on the celeb avatar.

Endemol should give this a rethink.

Though I suppose the cost of the dinos might mean that to fit the budget Alexander's tropical island jaunt might have to be the Isle of Man instead.

The BBC web site says Eldorado will not be coming back

Alan Yentob has never been director-general

But never let the facts get in the way of a good story

Yes, DS also accounts how Eldorado was to rival EastEnders...

Any ratings for The Walking Dead??

Not sure if that includes the last 5 mins or not (finished at 22.54).

Either way, poor rating for what was the best episode of the season so far.

According to DS, 713k & 103k on + 1.

Enjoyed it at the beginning and 1st series, but IMO it's going on too long.

Edit to add: Beat me to it Dancc - and more accurate figures?

Looks like my source was for the full slot. Slightly more respectable when you take out those last 5 minutes but still nothing to write home about.

Same thing happened with True Blood on C4. Respectable numbers for the first season, then died a death for season two. Another show which aired first on FX.

I think they should either look at first run rights or move it to 5USA?? Its a great show but its not the sort to gain viewers as the plot goes on, and hard to get into if you unless from the start of a season... It appears to be time shifting to above a million though... (EDIT: SOME WEEKS)

AND LOOKING AT BARB IT SEEMS BBC3 NEEDS ITS OWN TOP 30

Or how Albion Market was supposed to rival Eastenders and would still be around after 25 years with 16 million viewers? This was an even bigger disaster and was axed after a year with less than 2 million viewers.

Good rating for EastEnders. Its highest since 14th May.

Emmerdale only one up year-on-year, it did include the exit of a popular character.
