The Good Guys on Sky One – premieres Saturday 30th June 11:45pm.
There was only one series of twenty episodes made.

No. You are thinking of the film called The Other Guys starring Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell.

Sky1 is doing what most channels do which is to buy the rights for a cancelled show at a reduced price and then air and pass it off as a great show.

I understand what you mean but I have not seen any advertisements or information from Sky as yet on The Good Guys so they are hardly passing it off as a great show. I would say that due to its late night slot it’s a fairly low key launch.

If you have, then I stand corrected.

well not The Good Guys specifically but there have been shows in the past which have been shown by UK broadcasters after they were cancelled and hyped about, an example being glory daze on e4.

I understand that they buy these shows to have something to show especially during the summer period when there stock of us tv runs out but I also hate it that they don't air the show at a similar time as the US seeing as The good guys was aired back in 2010 its taken it 2 years to reach the UK

In fairness, The Good Guys is a fab little show and it's great that it's being given a second lease of life over here. Colin Hanks is shaping up to be no slouch in his fathers footsteps and Bradley Whitfield is Bradley Whitfield. It's Matt Nix from Burn Notice at the helm so if you like your like comedy drama shows, then definitely check it out.

Can't give the same recommendation to Whitney though, another cut and paste multi cam sitcom that offers nothing new. A shame, as I like the cast but urgh is it so done before.

How To Be A Gentleman got the can after about 2 or 3 episodes, although later went into runoff I think. I watched the first and knew I wasn't up for a second (again, great cast but terrible material).

It does make me laugh when a cancelled-due-to-no-viewers US show is sold here as 'The newest hit from the US!' though.

I'm quite pissed off with Comedy Central, they aired episode 11 of Whitney as their UK premiere and apparently it seems like they are showing episode 1 next week, how stupid is that; I believed it was just a EPG mistake

I asked about season two of True Justice a while ago and another DS member assured me it had been canceled.
