Can't see any of my favourite posters this year.

You know, the literate ones capable of constructing a word, a sentence, an argument. Of being a bit naughty and stretching the boundaries one minute, and then showing rueful contrition and humility the next.

Why's that then, eh? Where've they gone?

Can still see wonkeydonkey, to be fair.

Rules-wise, this isn't meant as a comment on other posters per se, it's meant as a comment on where Big Brother's gotten to. (Yes, 'gotten to', heh.)

Kill it, kill it now. Put it out of its misery.

'Gotten to' is a perfectly acceptable term. And I knew that, if that helps.

I've been reading these forums since the BB4/5 days and most of the people around then are long gone!

Lol. That's more like it. And in my case, undoubtedly true at times. It is always flattening when I meet an FM who is far more literate, penetrating and well-informed than I am. Occasionally I have had to pretend to go on holiday for a few days and hope no one has noticed my day of shame.

Hello wonkeydonkey. Some of them didn't even read the OP enough to see you were exempted. Pah, tish, tosh and fipsy.

^ ^ These are all fair enough comments and suggestions though (especially 'tough shit') and I'm truly sorry.

It is dead though isn't it. And not like every year when people say it's dead, and other people say why are you still watching then, why are you still posting just to say it's dead. Not like that. Properly dead. I'm properly not watching, which surprises me no end. You know, at some point you have to look up from the corpse you've been trying to reanimate and say to its family, "I'm afraid it's dead. We've done all we could do. It's gone to a better place and I don't mean back to Channel 4."

And yes, true, the absence of the literate isn't conclusive evidence of death in and of itself. Indeed it might just be a blessing. F**k the literate. But it is one of them sad indictment jobbies isn't it. Like, by the same token, I can't even see a single decent troll at work.

Sincere condolences all round ('around' would be more correct).

There have been great posters on this board and sadly many have left.

Ha!!!...was just a joke...honest. You're far from being literate wonkey, I would never label you like that.

The past participle of the verb to get is got in British English, and gotten in American English.

Oh God I remember when a bunch of them turned up here during the Shilpa vs Jade/Jo/Danielle/Jack series. That was not fun.

My standards are pretty low. I don't expect well constructed arguments or even complete sentences on here.

That said, once people stop being able to construct words, I'm off.

That isn't right. 'Gotten' is an English word meaning become or obtained. 'Got' refers to possesions, or having to. I've got to say that I'm glad I've gotten to explain this.
