That would be the fault of Dr. Luke who has faced theft accusations before.

The chorus is more of a rip-off of Thin Lizzy's Dancing in the Moonlight http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...h0T2Ftro#t=80s
Jessie J's version of Dancing in the Moonlight...hhmmm.....sorry ...Domino

What a bunch of amateurs today's artists are... This is why
Noel Gallagher is an absolute genius, he was sensible enough to rip off those that are already dead to avoid any hassle

I would say the only part that sounds similar is the way they sing the verse. The bridge and chorus sound nothing alike, and I really don't think the music sounds alike either.

I don't think they have a case at all.

I think they have a case. Basically the same song. Except Jessie's version is overproduced, rotten, and has even crappier lyrics.

But saying that, Loomis is not very good either.

Basically what's happened here is, someone crap stole a crap song from a crap band and it's bit Jessie and her "team" on the bum.

Out of court settlement?

Not only does she sound like Katy Perry in the song, it's an obvious ripoff.

Just listened to this Will Loomis song.

It's undeniable how the verses to both songs are practically identical, but when you go past that, there is no other similarities that I can hear anyway.

Name me a mainstream producer that hasn't faces accusations of theft before.

They've all done it (or at least been accused of it). Timbaland probably the most in recent years, but I'd say RedOne has been the worst for it, since he has a very small discography, whilst Timbaland has made thousands of songs, so percentage-wise he's not as bad.

I thought that too. Surely the producer should be the target and not Jessie J seeing as he did most of the music for it. Though I suppose (in commercial terms) Jessie J is the bigger star so if it helps to get the lesser-known band's original....

Well shouldnt this mean Katy Perry should sue Jessie J then because it sounds like Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F) ???? I'm guessing all this band wants is their 15 seconds in the spotlight.

I guess that would also mean Ke$ha should sue Katy, Britney should sue Ke$ha and so on and so fourth. It is actually a pretty common melody and chord progression. It has been used in thousands of songs. There is a video on youtube of Set Fire To The Rain with the Do It Like A Dude backing track and it fits. Does that mean Jessie should also sue Adele for ripping off her chords for that song? This is nothing new and this band is just hoping for their 15 minutes. It worked. Before yesterday, their video only had 533 views and 3 comments.

Ke$ha and Katy Perry did the same thing. Notice how Dr. Luke is the producer for all these songs.

Verses are very similar.

I hate when these cases come around though, because the artist gets the blame when in the majority of cases it seems more like those around them have copied (sometimes unintentionally, like Lily Allen Shine/Who'd Have Known) something they have heard in the past.

I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often to be honest, so many times if I'm trying to remember how a song goes, I get stuck at one part and it turns into another song, I imagine if you're trying to write music and you reach a block, you're brain would try to continue with something it remembers, sometimes without you realising it.

Borderline case.

Usually I find this type of thing to be down to obscure artists trying to cash in on a similar sounding song. This one might be the same, but whilst I'd never heard of them, I guess Loomis does have some kind of reputation, and the song is marginally similar.
