By inferno she had accepted her situation more and I just found her more friendlier and humorous.

Yes, Season 7 is not one of my faves but it's more the format I dislike than the stories themselves though The Silurians is a colossal bore. Pertwee I found very arrogant in this season. I'm watching Terror Of The Autons at the moment and I see a massive improvement in his Doctor from Season 8 onwards where he was a lot friendlier and less bolshy.

I'm glad you like Inferno, I do like this story and as I said at the top, it's the best of the run for me.

Agree with most of this, Liz certainly grew as a character over the year but I think she was only really off with The Brigadier, she warmed to the Doctor very quickly and by Inferno they are very much a team.

Perhaps because he didn't want to be there either. I liked Liz and wish she continued after Inferno, but then I love Season 7. Inferno is one of my favourite stories of all time but it isn't even my favourite of Season 7 - Spearhead is.

Yes, I agree, it was The Brigadier who was on the receiving end of her wrath with the sarccy comments and that was still going on in the closing scene of Inferno.

I also agree that she got on a lot better with The Doctor. As you say, they were in a similar situation of being there against their will and maybe that's what bonded them more together.

Definitely one of my favourite Pertwee, and all time, episodes. I did wonder when I first watched it if it was going to be really dark at the end with Pertwee facing the choice of sacrificing 'Evil' Earth for his Earth. When the Dr takes the computer part from the 'Evil' universe to save ours, he knows that they are already doomed. Would it have been a step too far to have the Dr take the part knowing it would doom 'Evil' universe but save our own? Would modern who have written it like that?
