My spell check was complaining when i quoted you.
It was probably fertilised and cockerel
which i don't think was the way you had it.
Found the new thread! My brain was fried looking, but I shell be all white now.

(Is it a US spell check? They don't like 'z' in a word. They don't recognize it)

I had mine put outside as i had to keep taking the roof to water it when it rained.:D

Spelling is just for a laugh, nobody cares a hoot really.

I was taught nothing about Hitler. In those days history extended only as far as Bismark. Hitler was possibly too recent to quailfy as history, too indecent a subject to tackle in an all girls grammar, and qualified as current affairs, more the domain of a secondary modern curriculum than of an academic environment.:D:D:D
You have led a sheltered life, if they didn't tell you about the chickens, what about the birds and the bee's?:D

I agree with you that no frailties or lack of skills in any arena should inhibit one from posting. We all offer different things.
On a different aspect, there are some people whose posts I completely fail to understand, regardless of the quality of spelling.
You are always welcome to ask for assistance if any wording gets too complex, we are all here to help and assist the members to enjoy their stay.:D

My spell checker can't spell, if i want to know the spelling, it only tells me what it is when i changed the letters round to get it correct.
I've never known such a stupid spell checker, it can't spell anything, and the suggestions it makes are so far from what i want that i either have to look it up elsewhere or change the word.

Do they even make a spell checker that works?

Bloody typical!

i decide to risk doing a wash as it's still hot & quite sunny & rumble, RUMBLE, RUMBLE is heard from the distance.

I still grrr at bad spelling, but try not to say too much - (it makes no difference anyway )

<<<<<<<<< my pet hate

What annoys me a lot at the moment is Americanisms slipping into everyday use.

"off of" What's that all about???

"Have you got?" "Yes I do"

Surely the answer to "Have you got" is "Yes I have" and "Yes I do" is the answer to "Do you have?"

I will happily be corrected if I'm wrong (in UK English) - removes pedant hat

"I'll phone him in the morning already"

I blooming want to teach them English already

If people who spell badly are allowed to post without inhibition, are people who find it helpful to rant and rave about minor ailments allowed to post that way also?

As far as I'm aware, anyone can post in here about any topic and with varying styles of writing and spelling.

I hate that too but I think it originated in the Jewish community?? They still say it - although it could be an Americanism as well, popularised by American Jews?

Grammar and spelling have always been big issues with me - ever since my children learned foreign languages at school when I realised that they didn't understand the grammatical rules of their own language!

Off of is a phrase I loathe especially, but I thought that was cockernee

I am a fan of the old fashioned method of putting pupils who do not meet the aryan Ideal outside the class.
My brother forced me to watch programmes showing the dead bodies being scooped into a pit which still features in my nightmares but better than not knowing at all. It doesnt really matter if someone is ignorant about eggs but it is sad that a valuable life lesson is missed by skipping parts of history.

I agree about the rubbish spelcheckers and the automatic correction ones are even more ridiculous. (but funny)

I fly into a rage at the words "gotten" Or "right now" as in "I hate you right now" And "no problem" makes me want to smack them one.

People just say what they want these days, i think it's a form of rebellion because the language is rather ridiculous anyway, so if they purposely change it they feel better.

As long as the ranting and raving is equal, if you did more ranting than raving then other that want to rant and rave might have rave more to keep the thread balance right, you can see my point without me ranting on can't you?
