Heya

I've been making my own lager from kits for the past few months and really enjoy it,
but was thinking about having a go at making some wine even though i've never really drank much of it,
the kits seem quite cheap to buy, from £25 upwards you can make 30 bottles !
has anyone here made their own kits and can recommend a decent one ?

Much appreciated.

Neil.

Cant recommend any kits, but have you considered making 'country' wines? Blackberry, elder berry and sloe all make very good wine and cost nothing. You can do the initial fermentation in one of your beer bins and then rack off into demijons or do it all in the bin and bottle from there. Lots of info on t'interweb of course.

This.

Forget wine from kits, go for the fruit.

I agree! Try different fruits. Elderflower is lovely as a slightly sparkling wine. You could also try making your own (alcoholic) ginger beer.

I can't imagine that a kit wine is going to taste nice.
