Last couple of seasons have been rather weak. Let's hope this one is a step up. The leviathans were terrible dull or though I did like Dick (fnarr fnarr).

News will start coming out once they begin filming next month. Normally I'd stick with no spoilers, but I need a reason to keep watching after the last 2 years............

It's filming now (just started) so spoilers will start dribbling in. This is the best place for that

Try reading the whole thread before making pointless posts like this.

Looking forward to the series myself. Yes, the recent one wasn't great but still better than a lot of stuff out there and it's good that it's come this far. I thought it would only last a couple of seasons at the beginning.

I seem to be one of the few that really enjoyed season 6. Well, at least the first half of it. Souless Sam was a brilliant idea!
But I admit season seven, while it had it's moments, was pretty weak, especially compared with season five. And the fact that Bobby and Cas were both killed off only later to be shoved back into a populated final smells of a hasty re-write.
Still, it ended with an intriguing cliffhanger, and I'm looking forward to what the new show runner brings!!!
Tip: Make Mischa Collins a regular again, as well as Mark Sheppard. Just saying...

Im interested to see what the new showrunner brings to the table hopfully it will be better than season 7 but sadly tv shows rarely get better as the years go on in my experiance anyways so im worried but hope it returns better than season 7

Which started off brilliently and had great episodes its just the main story was so weak very very weak IMO

But once again it was the cliffhanger that was so cool and I hope they use the setting/idea for all its worth

Octobers gonna be a great month
Supernatural returns and resident evil6 it out I just might EXPLODE!! Lol

More info I dunno about that TBH

I didt like the

"It's about Kevin and the tablets and the Word of God."

I didt like the character in the last two episodes and if they start focusing on a bunch of stones with ancient writing that has to be transcribed I can see SN turning abit silly

on the one hand they say there no going to be buried in the
weight of all the mythology but yet there focusing on
Kevin and the tablets which sounds rather crap

It reminds me of X-Files when scully found those ancient scraps of alien metal with writing and she went on and on and on yet it never kind of went anywhere did it?

I dunno I guess we will just have to see what SN does

Kevin / Tablets / Word of God

Doesn't sound too good, does it? I hoped that crap was over with now that the Leviathans have become irrelevant.

Hmm his last love interests were either murdered or ended up manipulating him into setting the Apocalypse upon us. Not sure it is the best thing for him to be doing considering his brother is trapped in Purgatory, his dad in Hell and his father figure burnt to a cinder by his own hand...possibly now trapped in Purgatory with his brother.

I have to disagree! I wrote a very long, ranting review of Supernatural season 7 on Tv.com, saying it is at its best when it sticks to the Angel/Demon dynamic that worked so well for it with its apocalypse storyline. It seems this new dude agrees with me. Season 7 needed Castiel and ALOT more Crowley. The Leviathons were just... dull in comparison.

Saying that, every interview I read seems to suggest they were not too happy with how heavy the mythology got in seasons 4 and 5. I personally thought the show was at its strongest in these years! A brilliant story arc that put all the main characters through so much development. Seasons 2 and 3 were great, don't get me wrong (better than 7, although I also think it's because everything still seemed shiny and new back then, and season 7's main problem was that, by trying to take the show back to the Sam and Dean and nobody else show, it grated as the show had developed and moved on from that, and we'd seen it all before), but the treatment of the mythology wasn't brilliant. I think only eight episodes addressed the major storyline of season 2; Sam's growing power and Azazel's rounding up of his "children."

Tbh, reading that has gotten me quite excited for season 8. But, I do feel they should make it the last one. I want a proper ending for Supernatural. Its looking more and more likely it's going to do an Angel on us, and simply get cancelled.

this is my worry aswell that it gets a decent ending or it does not become too bad a show that I begin to hate what there doing with it

S4 +S5 were great seasons

but Do they have a good plan of what they actually want to do with the show now?

Last year to me anyways it seemed they did not the levi plot was pants + killing bobby but then bringing him back was not a great thing either IMO

It was the standalones that made S7 good the main plot was garbage and in the end It didt even payoff we got a crap finale IMO with a good twist ending though

Tell me about it

Sam and dean will have a bumpy reunion ! Really! Again cant we just have a decent reunion when they catch up for once!

Bobby is dead why is he at comic con obviously the character must be coming back so which just annoys me that they bothered killing him in the first place he should have been left alive and well.

I dont like crowley so I pray he wont be the big bad I hate the character dont find him funny in the slightest.

Purgatory is the one thing I am really looking forward to seeing so im gonna han on to that and hope SN proves me very very wrong on how im feeling about S8 so far
