Who Would You Really Like To See Win Gold In London 2012?
I hope that Team GB do really well and beat their fantastic total from Beijing and whilst I could probably list quite a lot of names of people I'd love to win gold there are a few that really stand out for me.
1. Katherine Grainger. After 3 Silvers it would be a fantastic story for her if she could finally win gold 2. Beth Tweddle. She has really put British Gymnastics on the map in the last 10 years and to me it would be such a shame if she were to end her career without an Olympic medal. And an Olympic Gold to go with her 3 world titles would be fantastic. 3. Jess Ennis. Have long been a big fan of hers & the Multi Events have always been my favourite athletics events to watch. She is under a lot of pressure in London as the poster girl & to win gold under those circumstances when she is certainly not a red hot favourite and an event where so many things can go wrong would be amazing. She seems to be such a lovely down to earth person also. 4. Sally Pearson. I won't be rooting for many Aussies but I'll make an exception for her. If the London weather co-operates she could break the world record too - would love to see 1 of those dodgy Eastern European times from the 80s removed from the record books. |

I would like Shanaze Reade in the BMX to get a gold, as she fell flat on her face in 2008, and as she is from round near where I live it would be fantastic for the area, to have someone with a gold medal!
![]() My other picks would be Ryan Giggs in the football (highly unlikely but I would still lie to see it happen), he has been a wonderful servent to the club, and a gold medal would just put the icing on his already huge cake! ![]() Deng for Team GB in basketball, as I am a Bulls fan, so it would be nice to have a gold medalist in our ranks!

Rebecca Adlington - Great last time and could be even better this time around the icing on top of the cake for her
Jess Ennis - In her prime and would be great to see her win gold in 100m hurdles (even though i want sally pearson to win) or heptathlon. A victory would make her Londons golden girl but the pressure is heavily piling on. Sally Pearson - An exeptional runner and clear favourite. Silver last time around and that was when she was not a favourite as Lolo Jones was the best then and now shes the best she has to show it Mo Farah - He knows hes the hot favourite as he is in London and if he does win he will e remembered forever but nowfaces stiff competition from training partner Galen Rupp |

Its a long shot but would be amazing if Paula Radcliff won the marathon. Would also love to see Jess Ennis, Bradley Wiggins, Becky Adlington and Laura Trott standing on the top of the podium

Paula Radcliffe - I know it isn't going to happen, but I would love her to finally be able to put Athens to bed.

There's loads of others that I want to win too, of course - anyone in T&F (curse the Crystal Palace GP for raising my hopes on a couple of them... I'll only end up disappointed ) and I'd also second the Shanaze Reade vote from earlier on - I hadn't watched BMX before Beijing but her incredibly gutsy performance had me totally gripped.

Tom Daley even though I am not a massive diving fan.
Would love Ennis and Farah to win too. Seeing Pendelton beat Meares is the sprint would also be great. in fact any victory over the Aussies would make me smile. |

The ones that will really get me trembling...
To see Paula coming up to win gold in the marathon would just be amazing, and one of the biggest stories. Shanaze Reade. For losing out on a medal by not settling for silver last time around. And the men's rowing fours. That one is always such a drama. They have so much to live up to. |

I can't believe I forgot to mention the one that would definitely make me lose my voice.
Christine Ohorougo. Watching her squeeze over the line ahead of her rivals would be fantastic, and to retain the Olympic title would be a stunning achievement. |

Paula Radcliffe - I am not sure what condition she's in, but it would be a fairytale if she won gold.
