I have had a ipod touch for about 4 months. Today I bought an Apple TV box (new black one). I was told I can 'mirror' what is on my ipod Touch screen onto the Apple TV (ie on my TV screen)...so far I've been unable to. I have icloud installed etc.

Sorry if this has been asked before. I've done a search in the forums & come up with nothing to help me with the 'mirror' question.

Many Thanks.

Thanks your replies.....looks like the i-pod Touch 'can't' be mirrored on the Apple TV....only Mac laptops & i-pads etc can. Unless anybody else knows different?

You don't need to be on the same iTunes account, or have iTunes running on your computer.

All you need to do is double tap the home button, then swipe the row of icons from left to right. intel bottom middle of the screen you'll see a row of four buttons (back, play, forward, AirPlay). Press the airplay one and select AppleTV, then toggle Mirroring to on.

Edit: I'm not certain this works in iPod touch, might be audio only but it does work on the iPad 2 and I believe the iPhone 4S. It does not work from a Mac except from iTunes, and this is not actual mirroring, which won't happen until Mountain Lion is released.

After a simple Google search, it appears that iPod Touch doesn't support the mirroring feature. Sorry for you buddy.

But again, iTunes has NOTHING to do with it...seriously some person like Dargo shouldn't reply when they don't know what they're talking about.

Like Mark Smith said, it works with iPad 2 (and "New iPad"), iPhone 4S and will work on Mac with the upcoming update Mountain Lion.

Have a good evening!
