Haha to the person who said Frankie after frank, isn't there already a frankie moon, Michaels sister! No doubt she'll appear one day :/

I think its a. nice tribute to pat but janine was a bit rude changing it without giving Michael a choice when she knew he wasn't a fan! Then again what he does is just as bad so it evens out I guess!

Why? She could come to Wlaford seeking her older brother after her brothers, who she hates, came to live with Eddie in Spain.

She would be nearly 30, which is the age bracket we are lacking in. She could be a business woman and be a friend to Janine as well as providing an emotional rock for Michael. She should come in, but only after Tyler and Anthony leave / Die.

Did anyone notice that the second choice of name was Margaret, the long form of Peggy ? Janine considered naming the baby after both her step mothers !

I thought this was because Michaels mother was called Margaret... (maggie moon)

And to the poster above... is Frankie meant to be 30? I assumed she was a younger sibling to Antony and Tyler.. in this case she really should show up in Walford! Maybe kill Tyler off paving the way for her to come to Walford and decide to stay

No she is their older sister. It was referenced to in the sow, but I couldn't even tell you when that was. Anthony is meant to be 25, so she could be anywhere from 26- 30 approx. We are lacking characters in that age gap. We have the teens and then it jumps right to Roxy. Janine is in her late 20's, but she is very lonely in that age bracket and she's going to be off for six months anyway.

Yes she was made out to be a Wag.

If they did introduce her I really wish they would surprise us with her personality, bring in someone you would never expect to be a WAG in a million years.

No she didn't it was so much more complex then that. She was jealous of her but loved her very much. Talking of Scarlett, in GWTW does Scarlett not realise she loves the woman she has supposed hated all of her life, the same woman who has supported her Melanie? When Melanie is on her deathbed? Oh the irony.

I am sure she loved her mother but she never knew her really. Being a parent is more than the giving birth/sperm part its the raising the child. And Pat raised her.

Great coincidence, but I don't think the current writers have the integrity to have thought that one up.

Lydia Simmonds (and Norman) were totally extraeneous characters, retconned for a purpose. Never in all the time Frank Butcher and his kids were on the Square did he ever mention a mother-in-law, nor did his children mention a maternal grandmother being alive. We saw and knew Frank's mum, Mo, because her storyline involved one of the first (and Eastenders' only) depiction of Alzheimers. Also, Frank had a sister - can't remember her name, but Mo ended up living with her - who, curiously, didn't show up at Frank's funeral. The sister was very well-educated and married into the proper middle class.

The purpose of Lydia was to provide people who hadn't watched Janine's storyline since she first appeared in 1989, with some background to the character. She also dispelled a notion that Janine has held all her life - that she was an unwanted child, having been born more than a decade after Ricky and Diane and two decades after Clare. She was an unplanned, menopausal baby. This sense of being unwanted and a nuisance was strengthened by Frank's cavalier treatment of her, after he mother died when she was very young - allowing her to stay with the family dynamic for so long before sending her to live with Clare again and again. Eventually, Frank abandoned Janine when she was sixteen, when he split with Peggy, who threw her out.

Lydia reassured her that she was a child who was very much wanted and also, that Lydia had wanted to raise her, but Frank forbade it.
