I've played everything and anything, mainly FIFA for the last year, which is why I want something new! Are Dead Island/Portal 2 good?

If you've played everything you'd know the answer to that dead island was ok but if you get bored quickly it might not be for you. I personally would suggest dead space and dead space 2 see how you get on with them.
As for portal 2 i have no idea as not played it yet.
Forza 4 is pretty addictive too.

I have Dead Space 2, started it a while back, then when I came back to it my save had gone, so I've put off playing it! I think I might have to buy a racing game, maybe Forza 4

Turn your attention to XBLA, there are some more immediate and highly addictive games available like Trials Evolution, a game you shouldn't find boring. There's so many games, almost too many to list without you specifying what genres you're into.

Just bought Trials Evolution, loved the first, second seems like great fun! I just don't know where to go with retail games anymore, I stood in Gamestation for an hour and nothing leapt out at me!

Forza 4 is an incredible racing game, but it's actually quite a bit more than that, It's also car pornography If you are even remotely into cars I can't recommend it enough.

Hmm, there's so many great retail games for pretty much everyone, but perhaps there's too much choice?

How about Ninja Gaiden II? It's probably the best hack 'n slash this generation, if not of all time. Supremely playable and one of the most addictive games too I think, it really get's it's hooks into you. F'ing superb game, should be cheap too.

I've been on my 360 once in the last 3 months. Can't even remember the last time I powered the PS3 up.

There's not much on the radar to psych me up for getting back on either - maybe Sleeping Dogs, but after that the only game I'm interested in is GTA V next year.

I haven't bought a brand new game on any console for ages now, like 2D said, XBLA is a one stop shop just now, cheaper than what you pay for full price games and way to often, they'e far far better.

Exactly, I'm bored of Cod/Gears/Battlefield etc, I want some new IP's, and GTA 5

I tried the trial version of Joe Danger from live and thought it was fun I have just not purchased the full version yet but I hope it's just as good.

Not really the appropriate response for a gaming forum, is it?

OP: Try Amnesia : Dark Descent, Limbo, Mafia 2, Space Marine, Kingdom of Amalur, NBA 2K12 or Alan Wake.

Portal 2 is magnificent if you like rubbing the old brain cells together. I'd also recommend Borderlands as a damn fine FPS that's not all run an' gun, and Minecraft if you want a complete change of pace.

Regards

Mark

They are good but if SKyrim bores you they too will bore you. Try Max Payne

Yeh I agree I have not been interested in a new game for a long while but Sleeping Dogs sounds and looks good. Darksiders 2 and Farcry 3 are also on my radar. I hate games that are linear and only last 8 hours which seems to be the majority of games nowadays.

Why exclude outdoor games? Do they not count as gaming?

I suggest you go onto XBL games marketplace and download demos of the games you fancy and take it from there. There are some excellent games to be found in the Arcade section.

I have a few friends that (like a lot of people) who's budgets are quite tight (not saying yours IS) that only purchase XBLA games and are quite happy to do so. A 4200 MS point card can get you around 3-4 decent games to play (depending on how many points they cost of course). I myself tend to be purchasing more and more of these, as opposed to spending £35-£40 on 1 disc based game.

There are also some excellent games due to be launched on XBLA

Mainstream gaming is pretty much dead, try some Indie titles, like Limbo, Braid, Bastion, Super Meat Boy(Personaly I find that one quite overrated, but plenty of people swear it's brilliant). And if you're into PC gaming, play The Binding of Isaac! I've have already racked up 79 hours on it and I'm not even close to being done.
