Humax Foxsat Audio Question
Have just purchased and set up a Foxsat HDR - very impressed so far.
However I have one question, more of a niggle really regarding the audio on HD channels. Whenever I change to a HD channel I get a "chirp" through my TV. This "chirp" also occurs if I pause live TV or rewind etc? Like I say it only does it on HD channels. What is it please? Thanks |

It will most likely be the TV switching from lpcm audio to decoding Dolby Digital.
You can force the box to output lpcm stereo all the time. Menu - Settings - TV Setup - Dolby Digital OFF |

Not with a stereo TV. Dolby Digital can carry 5.1 surround and a slighter higher sound quality in stereo but you need an external amp with DD decoding and decent speakers to gain any advantage.
With the small speakers you get in a HD flat screen TV you won't get any advantage. Simple answer try it and see. |

I had to send my box back as it kept locking up and playback was stuttered. This followed several resets.
Anyway, sent it back to dixons for a refund. |
