Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini

Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini

I'm looking at getting a new phone, but I don't want to get locked into an expensive 2 year contract, or spend £100s on a new phone.

Its less than a year old (10 months?), only seems to cost about £90-£110 new, and seems to have pretty much everything any other phone has, and can also apparently be upgraded to ICS. Also the small ish screen is important as I always break the larger ones on nights out haha

Does anyone have one? I have read reviews but I want just normal people views on the phone...good, bad? Should I bother getting it? It seems pretty good from what I've read and seen.

Also finally, does it use a normal sized sim card?

Yes it takes standard sized sim card,
the xperia mini is an ok phone for it size but if you can find an xperia ray at the right price i recommend you get that instead.

I had one of these, apart from the small screen and poor battery life it was usable. Except it would not update past android 2.1-update1 and the Android Market would not update to Google Play and had a lot of apps missing (which other android phones would let you search for)

That was the Xperia X10 Mini - the Xperia Mini is an altogether better handset, albeit with a stupidly similar name...

It's got a Ace/3GS resolution screen but with much high end spec.
It is slightly chunky to accommodate the battery in the a compact size.

ICS is out already for it.
