Many years ago I drew £50 out of the account and later I noticed that they had credited it instead of a debit. So I was actually £100 better off. In those days, that was quite a lot of money. I gave in to temptation and kept quiet and three years later they found the mistake and took it back!
![]() I didn't get into any trouble. I guess in effect I had an interest free loan.

At first I thought I was the victim of some sort of scam. It turned out that there was someone with the same surname and initials at a very similar address half a mile away. So it was the postman's mistake. I notified the bank and sent it back. They didn't bother to say thanks. It amazes me that they don't send these things out by recorded delivery. |
