My brother did that while waiting for me in London some years ago. He basically went in and messed about, then told them he was leaving when he realised he was late for our meeting - first thing I knew was my laughing brother running towards me chased by several Scientologists, still trying to convert him. They then offered to test me too, and I introduced them to some old-fashioned Anglo-Saxon word for 'go away'. They gave up.

Yeah, I suppose getting rid of a faithful wife so he could marry his pregnant bit of stuff might be described as a 'need' for his kingdom!

Basically a brainwashing cult, designed to keep you away from your friends and family until the only thing you have is the cult. The cult is your family and make all your decisions, under the guise of you having come to that decision yourself. If you put all your money into it to, then they have you, body, mind and soul. |

There is no need for you to get your head round any Flat Earth Belief System, least of something that has no basis in fact, such as the Cult of Scientology. Utter Baloney. Created by L Ron Hubbard, the idiots who sign up to the Cult believe that humans were left on earth by Giant Space Lizards, who will return to collect humans. Pure Baloney. Utterly Pathetic.
But, if you are looking for a belief system that is infinitely more plausible, try out the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster |

I have to admit, when I very first heard of scientology many years ago, I actually thought hmmm... I could get into that. A religion based on science and not mystical figures from books of fiction written by backward people in a backward time when the human race had no better way to explain things they didn't understand.
But nope... more of the same, and worse at that. But at least scientology is honest, they don't hide the fact it's based on a SciFi novel. I'll give them credit for that, but that's all as it's clearly nothing but a profiteering cult scam based on complete make believe and lies. |

It's bad science fiction that was taken way too seriously by people who have little or no knowledge of actual science.

An awful lot will depend if Katie Holmes can keep her nerve. Right now she will be classified as a 'suppressive person' and according to Scientology doctrine, Quote:

And really, what can they possibly throw at her that could damage her in any serious way? It's not as if she has a thriving career to ruin after all. Plus, everyone knows the Sci blackmail deal by now and regardless of what they might have on her, it would only ever have a minimal impact and/or be treated sympathetically, now that the CoS's reputation is so damaged. I think it's what she has on him, what she's seen and heard over the last 5/6 years that they need to be more worried about since control freak Cruise is the one with the reputation to protect. To date, Katie sounds like she means business. And will be prepared to go low, if necessary. I hope so. |

The thing about Scientology is that Scientologists come across as so obnoxious and ignorant, it makes me sympathise with Xenu

More like too much knowledge of the Science of Brain Washing and Ego Fulfilling, whilst keeping a sharp eye on a fast buck. Someone mentioned Pryamid Selling, there is definitely a touch of that in the idea of raising to higher levels and of course the money.

All this CoS talk has made me look into it deeper, to try and understand why some one may chose this particular religion..tbh I havent found anything that would encourage me to join, I am finding the information against the church far more interesting than the 'religion' itself.
I found the following video interesting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntpQH...eature=related Some one secretly filmed a stress test/analysis. If this is how someone is introduced to CoS I really cannot see why they would want to follow it up...the man talks a load of rubbish and it seems obvious that he is trying to put words into the girls mouth (I think she deflects him very well). Either the man was having a bad day though or he needs sacking as a stress tester/analysist, he was totally rubbish. |
