Prison Break series 1 (surprsied that it's not on the poll tbh, thought it would've been one of their gems)

The only thing I've watched on channel 5 in 10 years is the occasional Europa league game.

Out of those, the cricket. I havent heard of about 8 of them.

I take my last answer back then. Was Prison Break on 5 then? I watched all of that, was terrific.

What about Flash Forward? Was that on 5 too? Watched all of those.

That Chegwin jungle thing too, was on 5, which I unfortunately caught.

Family Affairs (The Hart era) and Fifth Gear. And out of the more recent crop, Emergency Bikers and Police Interceptors are actually well made for relatively cheap telly.

Once Upon a Time.

Honorable mentions go to Celebrity Big Brother (particularly this year's series back in January), Extraordinary People, The Hotel Inspector, The Wright Stuff and all the other brilliant US dramas they show every week.

Back in the day, I was also fond of The Mole (excellent gameshow that tragically didn't find an audience), Murder Prevention (a rare stab at UK drama from them) and Sunset Beach (a crazy OTT daytime soap from the US).

Can I just say, considering how much unwarranted stick Channel 5 gets around these parts from the staunch BBC/ITV/Sky loyalists, it's very telling that there is no runaway leader on this poll and instead there's a decent spread of votes.

In other words, C5 is not this channel with only one or two decent shows on that people like to make out all the time, otherwise the poll result would be pretty unanimous. It's not.

But yes, Sunset was a brilliant show and one of C5's hits, same with PCBH.

Not going to happen is it?

The rights to Sunset Beach are apparently very expensive, hence why ITV2 only showed about 90 episodes and why Channel 5 only repeated the first year or so. Both times it didn't generate enough viewers to cover the cost, so I can't see either of them picking it up again. It was great back in the day and did rate well at the time, but not going to work in 2012 I feel.

And I honestly can't remember the last time there was regional variations during the day on ITV. That kind of thing is all but dead now except for the dedicated regional programmes in the evening.

Sunset Beach was brilliantly bonkers!! (lots of nice looking guys in it too)

The Prisoner Cell Block H re-run..a pity that C5 only had the rights to screen it once

I watch The Wight Stuff when possible

Family Affairs: underrated; a pity that it got axed..

I'm surprised that not many posters have picked those late night films C5 used to screen in the early years

BB, and the Poker.

The Batchelor is great stuff, They should do it on a knockout basis though. No eye gouging of course but scratching should be OK.

From Channel 5's early days:
Hospital (a one-off spoof shown on launch night - had the potential to become a series)
The Jack Docherty Show - American TV manages to have nightly chat shows across multiple channels. I'm surprised the UK doesn't do the same, Jack Docherty was an attempt to do so.
We Know Where you Live - a sketch show starring Simon Pegg and Amanda Holden, plus others. The jokes were hit and miss but the idea was quite good.
100% and Whittle. Both great shows.
I also quite liked Night Fever too

There's been 50 votes so far, and currently Big Brother seems to be the most popular!

The Walking Dead is also proving popular as is the "Other" option.

Do you think Dallas' airing on Channel 5 will rake in viewers?

Yep, i agree with that. I reckon, like Celebrity Big Brother's first series on Channel 5 it'll rate highly on it's premiere, but then it'll average out at something far lower.

Most dramas peak for the premiere and then dropoff, with a few exceptions.

I see no reason why Dallas can't be a hit for them. There's already been a fair amount of press interest.

The Wright Stuff is the only Channel 5 show I do/would go out of my way to watch, so I voted for that. I did like Flashforward too though.

I voted "other" - The Mole (already mentioned by Dancc) was a great show. Other mentions go to Fort Boyard & Topranko (game show presented by the late Anthony H. Wilson).
