Romeo Must Die

Bought this movie for £2 in HMV yesterday, love it and the hip-hop/martial arts combo.

Also stars Aaliyah in her first and sadly one of her only film roles before hr death.

Don't remember much about it - is it the one where they use that x-ray effect during the fighting?

Yeah I really enjoyed this film. Jet Li is superb. It's got great martial arts, action and comedy blended together nicely.

Yep, it's a very good movie and a good starting point in Aaliyah's sadly short movie career.

Jet Li and Jackie Chan are actually better actors when you watch their original China/Hong Kong movies. Their dialogue is far more fluid and the characters have more emotion.

Been a fan of both for years.

I think Jet Li in Once Upon A Time In China is one of his best for sure.

Romeo Must Die is ok but I think Jet Li's best american film is kiss of the dragon. its better than Cradle 2 the grave though which also same director and most of same cast.

Kiss Of The Dragon is a good one. I was impressed when he kicked the pool ball and it hit the bad guy in the face...until I found out it was CGI !

Yeah, a reference to The Street Fighter with Sonny Chiba I think
Wasnt that impressed with how the fights were shot IIRC but Alliyah had a sweet, gentle chemistry with Jet Li I think, she was cute Sad she died young

Agree Jet's best US film is KOTD, the last 20 minutes rocked, loved the fight with the 2 brothers
