Apologies just heard his name on the game briefly, thought it was IRN.

Sam Fleet was on Reading-Arsenal last night.

I was listening to Sport Today on the BBC World Service a bit earlier, where it was confirmed that they'll be providing live coverage of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, with Nick Cavell and John Bennett due to be part of their team in South Africa next month. We also heard Farayi Mungazi interviewing the BBC African Footballer of the Year Christopher Katongo, and I presume Farayi will be heavily involved in their coverage as well.

Having listened to a fair bit of talkSPORT Live's radio world feed coverage of the Premier League this season, I've really enjoyed the work of Piers Edwards and Richard Connelly who were once lynchpins of the World Service's coverage of various Cup of Nations during the late 2000s so it's a shame that they are no longer involved in covering the tournament; but on the plus side from listening to the World Service's coverage of the tournament from Gabon last year the people who have succeeded them sound just as good and as knowledgeable as they are.

I don't think talkSPORT UK have a pitchside reporter at Elland Road tonight as they usually would for a commentary game, as their Yorkshire football correspondent John Temple who usually covers Leeds United home games for them has tweeted that he's not working for them tonight, I will correct myself if I hear one though.

Thanks for providing the BBC WM details from tonight Connor, I wasn't expecting them to be covering Tamworth's FA Trophy replay. Good on them for sending a reporter to Corby.

I didn't listen to any of tonight's WM Sport, but having a bit of heard Monday's programme I notice that they are taking updates on the PDC World Darts Championship from DLI Radio Sport's Dan Dawson. The Sports Bar on Free Radio 80s this Monday evening (which was their last show for a couple of weeks) also took an update from the darts, which I was expecting as Dan's day job is reading news bulletins on Free Radio Birmingham.

To confirm the details I posted earlier, talkSPORT didn't have a pitchside reporter at Elland Road this evening. I thought Nigel Adderley put in a really strong commentary shift and it was good of him to confirm that talkSPORT will be doing all of this season's five remaining League Cup games as commentaries in the New Year, which is very good news indeed.

Thursday 20th December - UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League knockout phase draws

talkSPORT - Richard Keys and Andy Gray provided off-screen commentary on the Champions League draw during their show, with them being joined by Patrick Barclay from the London Evening Standard for analysis; afternoon sports newsreader Andrew McKenna reported on the Europa League draw during Hawksbee & Jacobs

Sky Sports News Radio - David Reed presented coverage of the Champions League draw alongside Michael Gray; Connie McLaughlin presented coverage of the Europa League draw; they took clean audio feeds of both draws

BBC Radio 5 Live - Ian Dennis reported on both draws

BBC Radio Scotland - Alasdair Lamont reported on the Champions League draw

UEFA.com - Chris Parrott commentated on both draws

UEFA's Gianni Infantino and Giorgio Marchetti conducted both draws from Nyon, with them being joined by Steve McManaman for the Champions League draw and Patrick Kluivert for the Europa League draw. From UEFA.com's live text commentary on the former, I was interested to read a contribution from Martyn Hindley (a former commentator/reporter from BBC Radio Lancashire, talkSPORT and BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra among others) whose name was prefixed as UEFA.com features editor.

Ian Dennis tweeted that he would have been in Nyon were it not for a viral eye infection, while according to the BBC Sport website's Sportday page Alasdair Lamont is there for BBC Scotland. I posted this last year but I'm not sure why the BBC send reporters out to this particular draw, as unlike the UEFA Gala for the group stage draws at the start of the season it's a very low-key affair and any interviews gathered won't have that much shelf life.

The good news for talkSPORT as far as the UEFA Champions League draw goes is that all three of the remaining British teams will play their home legs on Tuesday nights meaning they'll be televised on ITV1; so the away legs that they are more like to provide commentaries on will be Wednesday night games and thus exclusive to Sky Sports.

Southend United v Chesterfield - Phil Tooley (half-time and full-time updates, as BBC Radio Sheffield)

Good to hear Radio 5 Live Sports Extra carrying another BBC Local Radio commentary on a Friday night. I hope this becomes a regular thing, it's a clever and cost-effective way of using their Football League rights to the fullest extent and I'm sure exiled fans enjoy hearing their local station's football coverage nationally.
