Who's a fan of Judge Judy?

I am a lone voice in my household who is a fan of Judge Judy, on channel ITV2 at teatime. I have to suffer the sarcastic comments from other family members whenever I am watching it - this from people who like Eastenders for heavens sake!

Come on, there must me others out there are love this programme. This country needs a Judge Judy!!

I love Judge Judy, but I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of her.

I love it when she gets riled with someone...you can almost see the glint in her eye

It's also really funny when the defendant comes out with the most ridiculous story and she's in the mood to let them tell it. She gives a sweet smile, then gives them enough rope. She then trips them up just as they are about to hang themselves.

I used to like it, but after a while I just thought it was boring. The 'explosiveness' from Judge Judy just seemed to disappear.

Yes Mirage, and heaven help them if (a) they don't work and have made several children or (b) don't pay maintenance for their children. You just know that they will regret ever going on her programme.

Have you seen the famous (or infamous) Ebay Scammer case? I have watched it several times on Youtube (a great place to catch up on JJ), it's unbelievable. I would love to know what happened to that hardfaced woman.

Yes, I am the only one in this household that loves her. I am pretty annoyed that she only has one episode on at the moment and The Housewives of Orange County have replaced her, can't stand that programme, My husband tries to tell me that they are repeats but of course I deny it

If you haven't seen it already, I recommend checking out the JJ Tupperware Lady case (clips on YT) - it's hilarious!

For me it's a guilty pleasure program.

Naff, a bit repetitive, full of people who would rather be on Jerry Springer and badly scripted, but somehow rather watchable.

BIB: when I was unemployed for a while last year I watched that, I was starting to get into it as well.

Sorry

Bloody hell! Talk about overdramatic! She was told a few times about her dramatics but she continued with her 'acting'.

I love Judge Judy! My favourite moments are when she completely rips into BOTH of the people.

Yes, me too. It is frustrating particularly as there are three episodes on first thing in the morning that I can't watch.

Last week however, there was no JJ at all so I'm not complaining too much. I can just pop onto YouTube to get my fix if necessary.

Her shows are also on CBS Drama.

The thing I find weird is the subtext at the end of the show which effectively says that any monies awarded are paid out of a fund held by the producers - so that means no one actually has to pay out, the TV station pays it for them. Maybe this is in lieu of being paid for TV appearance????

I also like Judge Ross on BIO channel - not as hard hitting as Judy, but also very entertaining.
