How to be a Gentleman - Comedy Central
Why are comedy central promoting this so much at the minute??
Only 9 episodes were made, then the plug was pulled http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Be_a_Gentleman |

I don't know. This show sounds terrible no wonder it was cancelled.

They are promoting it (confession: I haven't seen the promos on CC, read on & you'll see why
) as they have almost no new material - ever. So a new show is something of a novelty for them - even if it got canned after it's first night of broadcast. I expect they picked it up for almost no money (maybe it was even given away ) but CC are obviously desperate - I really can't see how they survive (or why they bother). For example, next week CC have 2 new episodes of anything. That's one standup session and one half-hour sitcom episode (which they're showing 4 times) for the whole week. Everything else they are broadcasting is old, repeated stuff - like 109 episodes of Friends and 67 episodes of Two and a Half Men |

Why have they stopped showing 30 Rock, they're apparently gonna start showing that in Autumn. It does seem like CC are short of programming. Theres just Whitney and HTBAG that they have new. If they wanted they could pick up sitcoms such as Parks and Recreation and It's always sunny in Philadelphia both of which are really good shows

CC finished screening series 9 of TAAHM at the start June, they've been rerunning it since then, so that show is all repeats now. They haven't shown any 30 Rock for a while and all their showings of The (american) Office ended at the start of June, too. I did refer to Whitney (not by name), which is their only new american show (which they screen each episode 4 times a week) and their standup. Those are, currently, the only new content they have in the whole week. And, BTW that is far, far less than any other channel except the ones that only show repeats - even less than FX shows. The only reason I can think of for their sad and pointless existence is that CC and variants keep a lot of EPG slots "warm" for when Sky get around to wanting them for some decent programming (though knowing Sky, I'm not holding my breath) |

At first I thought they were going to be showing How I Met Your Mother because the actor sounds like Neil Patrick Harris. But I was wrong. Looked up the show, looks bad, not gonna watch. Kind of been my cycle with Comedy Central for awhile now.

Errr, yes. I meant over the entire year. Which would include new episodes of The Office, South Park, TAAHM, 30 Rock, Whitney, How To Be A Gentleman, The Daily Show (starting soon), Mike & Molly, and an original commission, Threesome.
(Which is a lot more than Sony Ent. TV (home of Community and Til' Death) and is probably equal to Dave. ) How they chose to show this none of my concern. I don't receive the channel, but I more than see it's purpose. I've finished school early this year and what I wouldn't give for some Friends repeats during the daytime (I'm having to make do with E4 - the majority of it's daytime line up is crap saved only by a few daily repeats) |

I think you're not really giving CC a chance. I'm guessing they bought the show before it aired in the US, or there was a package deal with Whitney which required them to get another show. This is what happened with Channel 4 in the 90s - they wanted ER but to get it they had to agree to buying a comedy as well. They chose Friends.
The reason CC survives is because Friends repeats are still highly watched. They gave E4 some of its best viewing figures a day, even many years after the series had finished. It also repeats other comedies, like Scrubs, Two and a Half Men. It shows live stand up, and it is now investing in more original programming after the success of Threesome. They also make some great promos. Especially the Steven Seller ones for Friends. |

I think the reason why they have it is because it was cheap. |

It's a shame it's so poorly written as it has a great cast.
