iPad2 3 network email settings

Hi,
I'm hoping that someone here can help. I have an iPad 2 with a 3 mobile broadband sim in it. My primary email account is an NTL one. The problem I'm having is being able to send email from the pad via 3G. 3 and Virgin apparently can't tell me the appropriate outgoing server settings to get this working.

Anyone got any ideas?

Have you tried these settings?

http://help.virginmedia.com/system/s...CUSTOMER_TYPE=

They are the first result on Google when searching for 'ntl email outgoing server settings'.

If those settings don't work then access to the outgoing mailserver is blocked by Virgin as explained in the article. Most ISPs do this to reduce the risk of their email servers being used to send spam. You may have to use the webmail interface to send email when away from your Virgin Media internet connection.

Alternatively, switching to a mail service not linked to your ISP would allow any internet connection to be used to send mail, but obviously you would have to change your email address.

I think for outgoing email Virgin block everything but their mobile and cable systems.

They let incoming work but for outgoing you can only use webmail.
