Tv Pad
Visited some Chinese friends recently and noticed a small black box under the TV next to the bluray player so I asked about it.
It is called TV pad and was bought off the internet from Hong Kong. It connects to a router and to the HDMI socket on the TV. Using the supplied remote you can access around 25 TV channels from HK, Taiwan, and China plus BBC World, CNN, HBO and a few other English channels. Around 150 films are available, mostly Chinese but a few old English films are available. There seem to be other features, games etc but they did not use these. The supplied manual was in Chinese so I struggled a bit. The quality was not good, about I-player standard in the lowest quality. An interesting bit of kit, but really only of use if you understand Chinese. There are no ongoing subscription costs. www.tvpad.hk |

Was the content online or via aerial / sat dish / cable ?
If online then its look like run of the mill android boxes that are floating around these days. |
