Well I don't have and won't have VM so Youview will be for me if it's as good as they claim (and hopefully has better integration than Tivo).

One extra thing I thought of this evening, as I felt like watching an hour's TV. Scrolling through the Sky EPG and my recordings planner, there was nothing - zero, zilch - that I fancied watching there and then. Hopefully with a week's programme content to choose from, I'd have quickly found something I was in the mood for - so roll on YouView!

IS there going to be a Freesat version of the Youview system released at some point? Thinking about an upgrade for my mother from a bog-standard SD Freesat box.

I am expecting that NowTV will be a big bonus to YouView especially if they allow the purchase of some of the big sporting events like certain football matches or golf competitions as well as films. The more companies that get involved with YouView the better ( hopefully ) for the consumer.

There's been a non-committal commitment to one. How quickly I guess all depends on how well Humax know Freesat boxes sell, and how easy it is to either adapt the HDR-FOX T2 to satellite or put the Youview software on the Foxsat-HDR hardware.

There is a more imminent revision to Freesat that they're calling G2, one of the few things we know of G2 is it includes the european web TV standard (HBBTV) - so expect that to be somewhat similar to Youview ... but different !!

@pzboyz - MyStuff, yes that set the bar for me too. I just don't get why no-one has ripped off all the best ideas from it, the best for me being :

Ability to set a series type search that records all programs containing specific keywords
Ability to set the maximum number of copies of a series recording which will be kept
Flexible sizing so you can have big text if you like or lots of channels and small text if you like
Maybe the manufacturers think that these capabilities are too complicated for the average user ?

At the moment the Youview box does not support channels 110-117 which is quite disappointing but it's very new so it might come shortly.
