I got a D for GCSE Geography. I need a satnav to find the corner shop. I haven't got a clue where anywhere is. Not everyone is into that sort of thing.
Unable to locate the continent of the longest mountain range on planet Earth? You don't need any qualifications to be able to do that, just a pair of ears and eyes. How someone can go through everyday life and be ignorant of this is bewildering ![]() |

On the end of your armies? and it's biology, not geography. That could have been your problem. |

Something else I've just noticed, being a bit part watcher about once every 2 weeks, if I'm lucky enough to be home at that time....
In the early series they really weren't clear that the people who came 2nd, 3rd and 4th don't get to keep the money won. Now I've noticed their accrued total goes down to 0 as Ben is saying goodbye to them. I'm sure someone must've complained but still, even those in 4th usually have about 200 quid so I'm not surprised they clamped down on any confusion quickly to prevent having to pay out thousands upon thousands per ep

I honestly can't believe some of the questions in today's episode.
"On what are microchips and components soldered?" "PCBs." "No, circuit boards" Er, a PCB IS a circuit board Ben. Printed. Circuit. Board. It gets worse. "What is the name given to a bar on screen to indicate where your text will appear?" "A cursor" "Correct" No, not correct. It's a caret. Your mouse pointer is a cursor. I understand the definition has become laxer in recent years, but if he's going to be a stickler over PCB, he should be a stickler over that too. I used to think there were people monitoring the questions for things like this, but apparently not! |

If the losing contestants can't keep the money they have won, it should be called 'points' not pounds.Another thing that is unfair is the 'out of time' rule. If Ben is still talking to a contestant, then any falling counters should be allowed.

Sometimes, after the drop he's also right on the ball, and disallows any counters straight away, and sometimes he lets them through if they fall much later. So god knows. Quote:
So even though he got the jackpot he also got that question right and ITV are made a mistake they should give him another £50 or £150 depending on how much its worth to his bank.

Where necessary some questions will have multiple accepts and caret was an accept on the cursor question. If anyone does have complaints or suggestions about the show do go to the contact page at ITV. All complaints are replied to. Shows will often get complaints meant for something completely different, like Chase complaints made to Tipping Point or Pointless which makes tracking them down almost impossible if the question team haven't watched the other side. In almost all complaints viewers will have just misheard the question. |

From when the counter comes into play the contestant is allowed three 'shoves' of the tray. The three shoves are always played out in studio but are edited out or trimmed to keep the flow going as long as it doesn't interrupt conversation.
The full wording of the pcb question was "In electronics the insulated panels on which microchips are mounted [are called printed circuit what?]" The contestant interrupted before the rest of the question in brackets so the right answer was boards. Normally at the end of the question block the question is fully read and the explanation of why the answer wasn't accepted made clear. While it was done in studio the explanation didn't make it into the edit which it should have done so complaints on that are fully understood. Where necessary some questions will have multiple accepts and caret was an accept on the cursor question. Is anyone watching todays show?
The host asked "in roman numerals" and immediately a woman pushed her buzzer but it didnt light up or ding. He continued "what number is represented by M" and the same woman pressed the buzzer again, this time lighting it up and answering correctly. Why would she buzz when she has no idea what the question would be? Or was it dodgy editing? If it was a mistake why didnt her podium light up? Eta im currently home sick and seem to be paying too much attention to the tv! |

I enjoyed the extremely loud, extremely annoying woman's response to
'What month of the year is named after Julius Caesar?' 'Err, January'. |

I'd be willing to bet there's a stage hand dropping the coins at the same time as a director is yelling "NOW" in his earpiece to coincide with the button press rather than some hi tech system to wirelessly to pick up the button press which would probably have some sort of delay in it anyway

I used to think there were people monitoring the questions for things like this, but apparently not! The arrow keys are also known as cursor control keys. Caret is an alternative name, but cursor is probably more well known. Caret is more generally the up arrow shape (shift 6). It's called a cursor from the Latin word for runner, it runs along the lines of text. |
