i dont understand why people enjoy this garbage
It is garbage, but it's strangely hypnotic garbage. Once you start watching it it's hard to stop.

I'd be willing to bet there's a stage hand dropping the coins at the same time as a director is yelling "NOW" in his earpiece to coincide with the button press rather than some hi tech system to wirelessly to pick up the button press which would probably have some sort of delay in it anyway
True. And when a contestant drops out, I guess they just take away one of the buzzers and bunch the remainder up.

If there's any delay between the buzzer being pressed and the counter dropping, they'll edit that out and the contestants will be made aware of what happens anyway.

And any wireless buzzers might get interference from other stuff going on in the studio.

It's entertaining nonsense. It doesn't pretend to be anything else. I used to be into Deal or No Deal, but have got bored of that. If shows don't evolve, they die. Deal's on its last legs, creatively and ratings-wise.

C4 have a ratings problem anyway, but Deal is on around 400k per episode and the celeb versions are getting under a million, too.

At least Tippy-P isn't a quasi-cult like how DOND presents itself, with the "walk of wealth" "Pilgrims" "East Wing" "West Wing" etc...

That show needs to be about 15 minutes, total. All the padding is completely unwatchable to me.
It's a random frickin draw and you pick random numbers...it's not fate or god or lady luck smiling down upon you. it's pure statistics, now get the frick on with it!

Tipping Point is so bad it's good. You put it on, you laugh at Ben getting massively excited over a "rider!", you cringe at how easy the questions are (all you'd have to to is bone up on all the insipid celebrity crap ITV shows and you'd be guaranteed to get every question right, it'd just come down to how lucky you were) and you watch incredulously that a show like this has been made.
But then the next time you're in the house at 4pm, you put it on again, and you're not quite sure why....
At least, in my experience anyway

It's a hell of a lot better than the one they had on to replace it a few months ago. Twisters?
That was just....boring and awful.

That's why it's doing badly, now. It's had its time, and it's hobbling round the field waiting for someone to put a bolt in its head.

I prefer the questions on TP to, say, The Chase, as at least I can answer most of the TP ones. The Chase just gets irritating.

The longer TP goes on, though, the more Ben gets excited about such things, for sure, and that does make it more amusing, because he knows it's nonsense, too.

That said, like with Deal, TP does have similar 'isms' to it, such as Ben suggesting that "she's not on your side today" when the machine's not paying out. Of course, they've pre-loaded the machine with stacked coins on purpose, which is why they often won't go for a while.

Alfie on Friday's episode appeared on areality show set in Ibiza about 5 years ago as he was in a Take That tribute band called Fake That and I remember he got a punch in the face from one of his band mates!
