Like The Chase, they made a pilot series to see how it will fare.

I think this needs a rule change to let contestants buy end-game counters for £500 each.

Quite rightly, few are gambling after their six final questions unless the jackpot counter's looking very likely to fall. But that's robbing us viewers from the 'what if' drama (well, I say drama) of jackpots that feel 60/40 or 70/30 in favour of falling.

So if you ended up with £2500, you could gamble the lot on five counters, or buy, say, two. In my latter example, you'd leave with £1500 or £10K.

I like that rule!! I would have been more likely to gamble in that situation - although I think I would have probably still walked away without the jackpot!

One more week of TP left and then it's Dinner Date from the 30th. Seriously, I will not watch that Come Dine rip off!

I'd still like to know for definite (our player who posted last week maybe) if the losing players leave with their sums of money they collected. (e.g. 1st person had £250 do they keep it)

At the opening of this very show he said "...the others leave with nothing!"

So that's the definitive answer: Only the winner get the money.

That's an awesome idea.

I also think round 3 needs to be improved as too often the game is already won, because only 6 counters in total are on offer:

round 1: 12 counters (3 for each of the 4 contestants)
round 2: varies (number of questions each of the 3 contestants gets right, typically around 10 in total)
round 3: 6 counters

I'd make round 3 a "Double Drop!" round, where the contestant gets to choose two drop zones and the counters are released together.

Seriously, was that Ben Johnson question in the 'hard' category?

Not really as I kind of remembered it and I can't stand sport.

I guess it depends how old you are as to how difficult that is.

But given all the questions in all the categories in the final round I've heard, I'd go with the "hard" one every time as I've known the answer to a lot of them, could have an educated guess at many of the others and get them right, and still have a 1 in 3 chance of getting the 3 counters if I have absolutely no idea what the question is about.

There's no such thing as a hard question or an easy question, there's just questions you know the answer to and those you don't.

Tipping Point is growing on me, only on for the rest of this week?

So as this is the last week for tipping point would members like to see the show return and if so how would you like it to improve? Its sort of grown on me but the speed of the show seems too slow to me and it doesnt help with the speed of that machine. 30 seconds isnt long to answer questions so that needs changing. Also there seems to be a daft rule on when counters drop that wont/do count towards your total. Think there was a game on the price is right called plinco where the playing put a counter into a machine and it either landed in yes or no. It just seemed more interesting watching a player actualy put the counter in themselves.

Its an ok show but needs improvment if its to get a 2nd series.

Of course there is. Some questions' answers are more widely known than others. The Ben Johnson question was very easy for a supposed '3 counter' question

Get rid of the four slots so that's its one giant slot, then perhaps have the counter moving horizontally above the slot and the contestant presses a button to stop the counter where it's at, then again to release the counter.
